Might this cannibalize the WiiU a bit?

Interesting.  I'd think not much, with the Wii U being backwards-compatible and the new Mini not offering internet connectivity.  The Wii has been cheap for a couple of years now.  For people who didn't have one, I don't think price is the reason.

If I were going to guess, most of the sales of the Mini will go in a kid's room to complement the one in the living room.  Which is a solid niche to have, but I don't think it'll hurt the Wii U much.

I think likely to hit 2 different markets.

Also, the Wii Mini is going to be Canada-only, at least so far.  Thus shrinking the potential impact.
