Had to talk about yesterday's Destiny leaks. 2,000 words about why we need to start over
New leaks say that Destiny 2 is coming to PC, and that it may be a fresh start for the series when it arrives. Is it fair to take away earned items from players in future installments, or is that what the game needs to do to evolve?

Sorry no legendaries, but this is still neat
Pokémon GO has updated its spawning nests once again, but this time instead of rotating them, they've made them completely random.

More mysteries! Do your part!
Destiny has debuted a new ARG in the wake of Rise of Iron, one that feels like what the Sleeper Simulant mystery was supposed to be last year. Fans are working hard to crack it, and you can help.

The Silver Dust economy is beyond screwed up in Rise of Iron
Destiny has brought even more microtransactions to the game in its $30 Rise of Iron DLC, but the way their sold, not their mere existence, is the problem. The game needs a system that relies less on gambling and luck, and more on players being able to buy specific items they actually want.

The Buddy System means it's not quite as needed as it once was
Pokémon GO still hasn't implemented a new Nearby tracking system yet, despite testing one for a month, but with the inclusion of the Buddy System, it may not matter as much as it once did.

My fixes for Rise of Iron that would help make the DLC better
Destiny's Rise of Iron is a lot of fun, but has a few lingering issues that can (and need to) be fixed post-launch. Here are five of the worst offenders right now.

One hell of a mystery, one hell of a quest, one hell of a gun
Destiny's Rise of Iron expansion contains one hell of a complicated mystery, but fans have already solved it and unlocked the Outbreak Prime, a powerful new pulse rifle. See how to get your own.

Heroes is in a bit of an odd place, as it has been since launch
Blizzard is revamping the 2017 Heroes of the Storm eSports scene as it continues to support the game even in the face of steep competition.

I went down this rabbit hole for you
Pokémon GO has spawned a huge YouTube scene where content creators fight for millions of clicks based on information that's often dubious at best. When is clickbait a removable offense? When it is just good marketing?

This is the most interesting plotline in Fear the Walking Dead, even if it's mostly ignored.
Fear the Walking Dead may not be as good of a show as the original, but it's introduced one mystery this season that is more interesting than anything else in the series, potentially.

Ubisoft loves backing experimental tech early, but it doesn't always pan out
Nintendo still isn't talking about the NX, or letting any details slip, but that hasn't stopped Ubisoft from hyping up the system all the same.

The future of VR is uncertain after an odd launch year
PlayStation VR comes out in less than three weeks, and will be the third major VR release this year. But what's it going to take to make VR catch on with the mainstream public?

Story
Introduction
I'm Editor-in-Chief of a film/tv/gaming site I founded called Unreality and I'm a video game-focused contributor over at Forbes. I think I'm a part of the first generation of journalists to skip print media entirely. I love all things media, and I'm honored that other people actually seem to want to hear my thoughts on issues in the industry.
Bragging rights
I once wrote a post about Nicolas Cage's hair that was the 8th most popular article on the internet that day.
