This is good news, but it's clear this process is lengthy for Xbox One.
After the holiday weekend, there doesn’t seem to be all that much gaming news to go around. So here we are, talking about how a seven year old game might be playable on the Xbox One sometime in the near future. I’m sort of kidding, as it’s definitely cool that Burnout [...]

There is little chance Nintendo's NX is released by next July.
A new rumor is being passed around the gaming sphere from DigiTimes which claims that Nintendo is ramping up production for the NX, which they describe as its “next-generation games console.” Reportedly, Nintendo is talking to its supply chain partners Foxconn Electronics about starting up production, with Pegatron Technology trying [...]

Trouble is brewing at Reddit, grab some popcorn.
; If you’re one of the 160 million of Reddit’s monthly visitors, chances are you’ve noticed something strange with the site over the past day. A site-wide moderator protest has broken out, and many of the default subreddits have been changed to “private,” meaning almost no one can see them. For a site [...]

It's weird to call a year's worth of PlayStation exclusive content an Xbox expansion, but that's what should happen this fall.
; The Destiny universe will get quite a bit larger this fall with the release of the game’s first fully-fledged expansion, The Taken King. The true scope of it is still unknown, but it will be the largest content addition to the base game since release, and had better be, given [...]

On a slightly different topic, the last few nights (between the hours of 5PM and midnight MST) the game #Destiny   has been dead. Void of any players. Queue up for Dragons or 12 coins only to be sent to the strike solo after sitting and waiting for players. Been like this now during those times mon-fri for well over a week, on the #PS4. Id say that is an issue and the symptoms of some of their massive missteps maybe? #Bungie   #Activision

It will be a tragedy if Halo loses this feature at last.
It’s a nasty side-effect of “progress” in the video game industry these days. As games get better looking and run more smoothly, they’re doing so often at the cost of a fairly significant feature: Local split-screen play. The option has fallen by the wayside in an increasingly large number of [...]

The hope for couch co-op in Halo 5 was the only thing keeping me interested in the Xbone and Halo in general—do people actually play it for the story? I guess Micro$oft realized they can make more money if everyone has to buy a copy of the game and a Live subscription to play with their friends—and get yelled at by 13 yr old bigots.

Conflicting messages from Nintendo here.
; I woke up today and read two very different Nintendo-focused articles. One was a Polygon piece on how Nintendo is going all out with Star Fox Zero as a way to justify the gamepad’s existence, while the other was a Fortune interview with Shigeru Miyamoto called “Why the Wii U [...]

Mad Catz has suffered in an age when local multiplayer is going extinct.
Mad Catz, longtime video game peripheral maker, is relying on one very specific game to ensure its continued survival, Rock Band 4. The company is in dire straits, according to a Game Informer report which published an audit opinion letter that aired concerns over the company’s ability to pay its debts, [...]

It's a shame. I have gotten a ton of fun it of Towerfall, Samurai Gunn, Starwall and Crawl. There's a magic to playing games in the same room as others.

Reddit is constantly at war with itself.
Art: BoxHeadStudio ; Reddit’s temper tantrum has more or less subsided. Nearly every big subreddit that went dark in the wake of yesterday’s site-wide protest has reopened to the public. Nothing particularly noteworthy happened that ended the strike. Reddit martyr Victoria Taylor was not rehired, nor were the specifics of her firing even [...]

This is beyond a fantasy, but I want it so badly.
; Many of those who bought Arkham Knight at launch are probably going to be wrapping things up this week, because most people aren’t crazy enough to beat it in three days like me so I could write this post. After that, however, outside of a few DLCs, the Arkham series will [...]

Honestly I'm glad it's separated from proper Metroid. Hunters was great gameplay married to a plot/story that was utter nonsense, and the Prime games themselves got ridiculous in the story/plot department as they progressed. Take Samus out of the Prime completely and I no longer have to be disappointed when it's stupid. As long as it's fun to play, I'm in.

What the Wii U needed.
; Seeing that Nintendo is pretty content eulogizing the Wii U at this point, I didn’t see the harm in doing it as well. While it’s great that almost three years into its lifespan, Nintendo is finally trying to focus on the capabilities of the gamepad with Star Fox Zero and [...]

Nintendo wants to hold onto its Lucky Charms.
; Heading into E3 this year, there were two things Nintendo specifically said they wouldn’t talk about, The Legend of Zelda for Wii U, and their new NX hardware, both of which are supposed to be kept under wraps until 2016. While Nintendo is keeping their word and still refusing to discuss [...]

Introduction
I'm Editor-in-Chief of a film/tv/gaming site I founded called Unreality and I'm a video game-focused contributor over at Forbes. I think I'm a part of the first generation of journalists to skip print media entirely. I love all things media, and I'm honored that other people actually seem to want to hear my thoughts on issues in the industry.

I once wrote a post about Nicolas Cage's hair that was the 8th most popular article on the internet that day.
