Using the Five Stages of Grief in Honoring a Departed Loved One

Have you lost someone to an illness? Grieving can create a hole in your heart. But this doesn’t mean that you should also lose your zeal for life. Why not honor the memory of your departed loved one?

Every grief passes through stages. As a grieving person, you can use each stage to honor the memory of your beloved family member. Here are simple ways you can follow through:

-Denial

Acknowledge that it’s normal to be unconvinced, at first, that they’re gone.

-Anger

When you start being angry, think about how your loved one is finally in a painless place.

-Bargaining

When you start thinking about what-ifs, remind yourself that your beloved would want you to remember them happily.

-Depression

Allot time to be alone and thank your loved one for the good memories they left.

-Acceptance

Share with others the kind of person your loved one is to you.

We understand your struggles in the grief process. If you want further support in getting through, we’re here for you. Contact us, at Pinnacle Hospice Care, through 303-344-0051.
