We attended the Dave Matthews Band show in Camden at the Susquehanna Bank Center. The hotel is clean, quite and excellently situatated to the performance center. Also sight seeing is close by...walking distance! This will be our goto hotel in Philly!

Very beautiful lobby and dining area. The room in which I stayed was nicely decorated, but a couple things bothered me. First, the A/C was INCREDIBLY loud. Then, I could hear everything in the next room. Last, the shower had a low-flow shower head that barely had enough oomph to get the suds out. I don't ask for much, just for a good night's sleep and a nice shower after it.

My wife and I spent three nights here in October, 2009. It reminded us a lot of some of the hotels we visited while in Europe - cozy, friendly, a lot of ambience. The rooms were small, but well appointed. We tried the third floor room with a balcony -- which was really a large deck, complete with chairs and a table, overlooking the river. Great view, nice open air environment. Hotel was close to the city and everything was very walkable. The bar and restaurant were great. Parking (not cheap) is available next door in a private lot, but very protected. Hotel staff is quite helpful with restaurant ideas and local suggestions. Breakfast was superb. No problem in doing it again.

I chose this hotel as our destination based on the historic status of the building, and we were not disappointed. The hotel is a wonderful mix of historic charm with a touch of modern day flare, absolutely lovely place. The staff that we met were friendly and helpful, the room was tastefully furnished and clean, the complimentary breakfast was light and delicious, and surprisingly, the traffic of the highway in front of our room, was relaxing. The wifi was slow, but in the hotel's defense, wifi throughout the city was slow; this was not a big deal to us. The elevator was out of service once during our stay, which to me is also not a big deal- it happens. I expected this to be a long inconvenience as it broke down Saturday evening. We left for dinner, came back two hours later, and the elevator was working. My point in sharing this is not that the elevator broke down, but the speed in which it got repaired. We are looking forward to our next stay in the city, and will most definitely be staying at Penn's View again.

Best hotel we stayed at in a good number of years. Right on the river and lot's of public transportation. The room was very nice and had everything we needed. The wine bar was a nice cozy place where you didn't have to yell when talking to someone. The continental breakfast was awesome and part of the room fees. Great variety and very fresh. As an added bonus there was fireworks on Penn's landing that we got to watch. We were in Philadelphia for our daughter's graduation and had a great time. We parked the car and let the public transportation get us where we needed to go. 5 Plus stars and would go there anytime we are in Philly. Thanks Penn's view for having such a great place at a great price. Oh, by the way, we got there to check in and found we were up-graded to this awesome room. Again, thanks. May 11, 2011

It was our first trip to Philly and we wanted to stay somewhere very nice but not very expensive. This place was wonderful! We paid $21 to park right next to the building the whole time we were there which was a steal for the historical area. It's only about a 5 minute walk to South Street and the Liberty Bell/Independence Hall. Also the big double-decker bus that stops all around the city has a stop right in front of the hotel so for another $24 you can get quick transportation all around Philly. We got the standard queen room and it was very nicely decorated and a good size. At first we thought noise would be a problem as our room was on the side of the hotel facing Market Street but after a day of walking about Philly it wasn't hard to fall asleep! We just turned the fan on the A/C unit on low and closed the curtains, and it was hard to believe we were in a bustling city. This hotel is wonderful and we're already planning our next trip up!
