The +Chrysta Rae Scavenger Hunt is revealing it's entries for "Shaggy" from the 18th round :)
We are officially on DAY ONE of REVEALS
from the 18TH ROUND
of the +Chrysta Rae Photography Scavenger Hunt!!!
Sponsored by ADOBE

What you are about to experience
over the course of the next 10 days is pretty awesome.
We play a game - 500 photographers and myself - a photography scavenger hunt.

What is the scavenger hunt?
Only the most inspiring, creative and fun way to learn your camera, push your limits, experiment, and shoot things in ways you didn't think you could.

I host this event a few times a year for anyone of any level of photography to participate.
I open the game up to 500 Photographers
I give you 10 items to shoot
I give you a period of time to shoot and enter your photos.
Then I have them judged by amazing photographers

I then open the albums up to the public - every morning over the course of 10 days.
There are 10 categories:
This is the first - the "*SHAGGY*" album.

This event is an amazing way to use your camera in new ways.
It gets you seeing things in new ways,
It helps improve your photography skills,
gives you a huge audience,
and let's everyone celebrate each other's successes.
Make new friends,
and be a part of a community of photographers who care about each other, teach each other, and inspire one another.

The group of "scavengers" that participate create a community unlike any other on G+.
Support, encouragement friendships even some #huntsmack is enjoyed.
We become a family over the course of the month.

This is a negative-free zone - I have zero tolerance for any critiques that are uninvited.
Please be respectful and remember that every person went out there and took the time to shoot these images
and put thought into them and tried their best.
As always, I am proud of every single one of you.

(NONE of the images were taken by ME - this is a collection of images taken by multiple photographers participating in the scavenger hunt. All copyrights apply)

With that - I present to you the "*SHAGGY*" album,
1 item seen in 220 different ways.

A quick hello from this little guy, spotted while whale watching with +Tiffany McLaughlin in Tofino this summer.
Our guide explained that sea otters loose heat fastest through their palms and soles so they keep warm by keeping their paws dry. Whatever the reason, it's one of the cutest things I've seen.

When I was in Tofino with +Tiffany McLaughlin I went on a bear watching tour and caught this guy ambling along the beach looking for crabs. It was impressive with what ease he flipped the rocks. I loved that we got so close on our zodiac that we could hear the clonk of the rocks and the crunch when he bit into the crab.
I love this shot as it reminds me of the swagger that Balu has in Disney's Jungle Book. Just the bear neccessities...

+Sivani Boxall it is such a sight to see the mother with her cubs and then later on the cubs become huge like momma. I really enjoy the little prance gallop they do when they spot you and head for the hills :)
Many of the roads around here have high fences to protect them and believe it or not, there are tunnels under the roads so they can cross over to the other side without any danger of getting hit by the cars. Most people think of gators when they hear Florida, but I have seen more bears than gators!

Another one from Ibiza this summer where I was at the yoga retreat with +Dagmar Spremberg. This was our pool opposite the yoga deck and every morning when we went for our morning practice, this is the sight that greeted us.

My best selfie :)

At #tgsmu15  in Vegas +Mark Rodriguez taught us how he takes his selfies and +Sam Breach taught us how to shoot with proper studio lighting.

For the 17th round of the  +Chrysta Rae Scavenger Hunt I entered this selfie for the word "poison" and was awarded the first place by +Robin Griggs Wood as well as an honourable mention by +Erika Thornes.

I couldn't have done it without +Sam Breach who took me in for a couple of nights, showed me San Francisco and let me use her studio as well as go nuts in her prop room (which was my bedroom).

I'm honoured, humbled and giddy with joy and I know none of this would have been possible without +Chrysta Rae, The Great Scavenger Meetup (#tgsmu) in Vegas and the incredible community that comes with the Scavenger Hunt.

At first on Safari you're excited about every animal you come across. Within an hour you're bored with antelope and zebra. By the end of the day all you're interested in are animals you haven't seen.

In life we can get accustomed to the beauty that surrounds us, we get used to everyday niceties. It's always good to remember to look with fresh eyes and notice the friendly neighbour, the family member who's always helpful, the beautiful surrounding you live in and on Safari - the Zebra.

I've been a little absent due to my travels but here's a little selfie where I've put all I learned in the last week into one shot. It's been magnificent spending time with +Michael Bonocore and the guys from +Lofoten Tours in the Lofoten Islands learning about long exposure and the Northern Lights. I would never have done this had +Chrysta Rae not invited Michael to talk at #TGSMU2015 .
I'm so happy I joined the Scavenger Hunt, I'm so happy I went to Vegas, I'm so happy Michael decided to walk up to me and talk to me that day, I'm so happy he reposted the link to the workshop... Let's just say I'm very happy!
