Got an email from Google this morning to say that they're going to be adding +1 buttons to Adsense For Content. "Soon, your users will be able to endorse specific ads". How can anyone endorse an ad? That's all they'll be endorsing - an ad, not the actual service they're selling - so where's the logic in that?

I think this is more to the point...

"We believe that these recommendations could help your readers notice ads on your site more, leading to higher returns for you over time."

They've got a cheek calling them "recommendations". It seems to me that all they're doing is jazzing up the ads to generate more clicks.

Oops, they did it again! Facebook users are up in arms today after FB's soft roll-out of their new interface. If you've got the new version and you don't know where to start, this article is quite useful...

I could glam this up, but quite honestly, I just try to find the people who really want to buy the stuff you want to sell, while they're "hot to trot" with their wallets out and ready to buy it :)

Story
Introduction
Discovered bulletin boards in the 80's, built (lots of) websites in the 90's, the 00's are all but a fuzz, and I suspect that the 10's will be the time when every business, large or small, realises that it all starts and ends "on the Internet"... from this moment on!
Bragging rights
Four decades on the Internet and I'm still breathing (I think).

Enrolling in the Acorn Enterprise program is one of the best business decisions I've ever made. I did it for different reasons than some - one of the main ones being that I felt that if I committed myself to the program I'd be accountable and would strive to make progress every day - and that's exactly how it's worked out. The people who run it are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable about a whole manner of business subjects and the guest speakers all provide excellent information too. If you're starting a new business, or would like more clarity and focus for an existing business, then I would highly recommend enrolling in the Acorns program if you possibly can. I firmly believe that this could be a life-changing opportunity for many of the people who do.

Gary Russell from Your Pass Driving School is an excellent driving instructor who takes the time to explain every part of the driving process in a calm and relaxed manner. Ideally I was looking for a Grade 5 driving instructor (not all of them are in the Dunfermline area) who could help me to iron out any problems with my driving and reassure me of my strongest points when my confidence was low and Gary didn't disappoint. He's a fantastic driving instructor and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Your Pass Driving School to anyone who is looking for driving lessons in the Dunfermline area. If you've failed before, like I did, give Gary a call!

Graham Joinery have done a lot of work for us over the years - a kitchen, bathroom and other smaller jobs - and I couldn't recommend Barry and his team highly enough. Their attention to detail is second to none, their prices are very reasonable and they've always completed jobs for us in the specified timeframe. Recommended!

We hired Gain A Room to do our garage conversion for us and we couldn't be happier with the results. They were a pleasure to deal with and carried out all work in the specified timeframe. I'm happy to recommend them!

Perfectly situated across from Dunfermline Abbey, The Old Inn is the oldest pub in Dunfermline and the beer, food, service and the atmosphere is fantastic. If you're visiting the tourist spots in Dunfermline, like the Abbey, or the Glen (Andrew Carnegie's infamous Glen) then a trip to The Old Inn for your lunch or for a beer is mandatory!
