+Seb K That image is actually much more realistic and reasonable than the one you commonly see which suggests that trucks have a three lane wide death zone all around them.  Here's an example:-

That kind of things makes me wonder exactly what the mirrors on trucks are actually letting the driver see.

It looks like a number of people on here got confused. I'm not in anyway defending this particular bicycle concept.
I was merely defending recumbents in general as an alternative, but NOT a necessarily superior one, to conventional DF bicycles. Broadly speaking I like all bicycles. Just not this particular concept one.

Will you put a lid on it?

The people behind a forthcoming crowdfunding campaign believe that everyone who rides a bicycle in London should wear a cycle helmet – and they want to raise money to produce a product “so cheap and so available that everyone chooses to wear them.”

Well if it gets the go ahead then we won't have a choice .

I agree with Alex about the speed issue . You have to put it into context  . I mean if you cycle 5mph on the granny ring and cycle mostly back streets then you're fine . If you cycle (like me) at nearly 30 mph and on the main roads / dual carriageways and in heavy traffic then a helmet is added protection .

The control is obviously very different from the traditional bike. Handlebars are not used to turn the front wheel; the steering is more a function of tilting the bike sideways... at least as I understand it. For this purpose, a single vertical bar might serve just as well (just in theory, as it would have some drawbacks as well).

We could advise you not to do this at home, but it's highly unlikely you have a mountain at home to do this.

On my E-bicycle the regen brake has a dc to dc converter and when activated the voltage is increased at the motor/generator via box and is naturally forced into the batteries...roughly said.
