There is a name for pipe cleaners. Crafters call them cheniele wires. And the few pipe smokers left in the world do use them to clean their pipes. The other things I was supposedly taught in school I wasn't taught in school, I was taught some of them by popular culture.
OK, maybe I'm greedy for attention. I now have 4 blogs going. I have my oldest blog, Lindsborg News - and haven't posted to that. I also now have two Word Press blogs - one on the J.B. production and one on the Communication Program at Bethany. Then there's this one, Interpersonal Communication. A sadly neglected blog. I neglect because I am not a true Interpersonal scholar - I am an Interpersonal practitioner. I use what I've learned in this discipline as part of the tools I use for ministry.
Watching and listening to "Bethany Pathways" presentation. While I appreciate the content, We have got to work on our Power Point skills - both the skill of creation and the skill of moving through the slides. Too many words on the slides!
What? Let's see. Congress approved ACA. The Court found most of it constitutional. The people voted and didn't want to repeal. DOMA has been found unconstitutional. The Obama administration has been deporting as a record pace. So what, exactly is it that the administration is doing that the people don't want? Why isn't the minority willing to admit it is the minority?
Headline News did a story on cost of seats at the Superbowl. $400,000 for a skybox and you know they're all sold out. Hope none of the companies that had to lay off employees because of health care found the money to rent a skybox. That would be putting one's priorities way out of skew.
A Swedophile, I've knocked around the US, serving in a variety of Lutheran churches before finally settling into my final career as Communication Educator. I'm also a theatre person, teaching mostly communication courses, but doing one show a year for our department. My research interest is ethnic humor - particularly the jokes told by Swedish Americans and the images of Swedish Americans in films of Hollywood's "Golden Era."
