If you're in Vegas, make a stand against this proposed development of Red Rocks.
From the Access Fund:
Red Rock area climbers, we need your help! Since 2002, the climbing community and Save Red Rock have been fighting a massive housing development proposed for Blue Diamond Hill. The developer, Jim Rhodes, is currently seeking a mining permit which will allow him to start using trucks on site. Rhodes has never sought to mine the claim before and locals fear that this is a ploy to start preparing the land for the housing development.
Due to the public interested, the Bureau of Mining Regulation and Reclamation, Nevada Division of Environmental Protection re-opened the comment period until Dec. 21, 2012 and is holding a public hearing regarding the permit application on December 18, 2012 at the Blue Diamond Recreation Hall, One Village Drive, Blue Diamond, NV 89004.
