Probably the most fantastically, brilliantly and beautifully grotesque innovation so far in the Skyrim modding community, user fncypntz has revealed the true imagining of the legends spoken in Skyrim's ancient lore.

It's deceased wrestler 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, naturally.

Wandering from a small Imperial Camp in the northern reaches of Skyrim, I stumbled upon Fort Dunstad. As an Imperial agent I thought it best to take a look.

Skyrim Played Properly is a series of videos which showcases how we feel Skyrim SHOULD be played.

Got a lovely new screensaver for y'all. This is a battle raging over Caspian Border - a 2 minute static take of the mayhem within Battlefield. Enjoy.

Introduction

So I’m going to make a bet that you’re sat at your computer right now wondering why on earth this website doesn’t sell pirate hats. I can answer that question if you like.

You see the phrase “Hello World”, used around the world by geeks and nerds for testing code or cleverly gauging the echo-ability of a particularly large room, really is a fantastic thing. It’s short, snappy and makes us happy (rhymes!), though “Hello World” would never have come about without one particular man. That man was Thomas Edison.

Believe it or not, “Hello” was rarely used until telephones came about in the late 1800s. Up until then, one might say “Good day” or “What a lovely hat!” to start a conversation. However, with the invention of the telephone, it was felt there needed to be a seperate greeting available – more simply, something to say when you pick up the phone!

In 1875 Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone, came up with a greeting – “Ahoy!”. Two years later, Thomas Edison wrote to T.B.A. David, the president of the Central District and Printing Telegraph Company of Pittsburgh and said:

"Friend David, I do not think we shall need a call bell as 'Hello!' can be heard 10 to 20 feet away.

What do you think? Edison - P.S. first cost of sender and receiver to manufacture is only $7.00"

And so “Ahoy!” was ditched and “Hello!” lept in its place. Still, as a tribute to the good ol’ Mr. Bell (and mainly because it sounds pretty damned cool), this site stands.

Ahoy!
