Waste My Youth (Flintheart)
This is an experiment I did with a track provided to me by the excellent Chris Flynn and the superb band Flintheart. Go see these guys!

I added a few tracks to give it a bit of a different feel. The sax line is meant to be uplifting and represent "youth". ...

Toy Con NJ 5!
Had a great time this weekend at Toy Con NJ 5 in Parsippany, NJ. Found lots of cool treasures: Some silver/bronze age gems that I found for $3 each! I picked up a few cool T-Shirts from Brooke's Nook (below is an example of what she had on the rack) for $10...

Just back from the first day of Toy Con NJ 5! It was a great convention, and there were many toy and comic dealers. I scored some fantastic deals and finds.

In terms of dollar bins for comics, I thought Dragon's Lair of Newton, NJ was "best in show". They had some amazing deals under the table - 2 @ $1 = 50 cents per comic. Lots of other independents selling some fantastic finds as well. One vendor has boxes upon boxes marked at $1, $2 and $3! He also gave deals on bulk. And of course there were tons of toys and crafts and pop-culture stuff to be found. I was there the whole day perusing boxes, bins and tables.

Also found some great T-shirts and other deals from the likes of Brooke, Comic Collision, EC Duzit, Mike Carbo and many, many other tables!

Great convention!

Four The Love
This one was recorded live in a single take, no overdubs. I am actually playing a synth lead patch from the Excellent Yamaha VL70m with Patchman Turbo installed.  It's pretty mellow jazzy stuff, and the lead was a bit muted, but it turned out OK. Some good ...

If The Coal's Wet
Here is yet another instrumental in the Jazzisoulifunkitronic style.  Done overdubbing saxes in the back doing the callback with a trombone lead.  Get on the good foot!

In Her City
Here is another soulful performed with the ReKeStRa Quartet.  I used the excellent Dynasample Xpression unit for the horn sounds.  Turned out pretty nice IMO.

Sahara's Mile
Here is a version of an old song we did with some significant rearrangement. I did the horn lines at the beginning and the sax lead part, as well as added a few other tracks to fill out the arrangement. I think it sounds pretty good for a four piece ensem...

Musical Influences
Every musician has their own musical influences - early encounters with other artists that impacted their own course and approach to music. I started out as a trumpet player, so one of my very first influences was the great Maynard Ferguson.  It was my brot...

Swingin' on the Highway to Hell
Here's a very cool big band arrangement cover of AC/DC's iconic Highway to Hell by the German band Jazzkantine.  Again, it reaffirms my belief that you can swing almost any song and make it sound good.

Crazy Little Thing
Here's a nice cover of the Queen song "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Torsten Goods, a German jazz guitarist. I have to say - I like his arrangement of this cover. A bit of lounge with some Elvis thrown in for good measure. Great stuff! This guy has...
