Hi Syed,

It was a pleasure meeting you in Kolkata Publishers Meet. Here is the question you wanted me to post here.

While using Review snippet of Structured Data, is author review allowed on general informational page?

While I have noted the related guidelines "Refer clearly to a specific product or service" and "Provide review and/or rating information about a specific item, not about a category or a list of items", but I clearly see exceptions.

Here is an example... in the attached screenshot you will see that I have searched for "bermuda attractions" which should bring out results for web pages describing attractions in the island Bermuda. While my website ranks #1 for this search, I would like to draw your attention to the second result from the website www.bermuda.com which has the review snippet with prominent rating by the author. However if you visit their page, it is not about any specific attraction, rather about all tourist attractions in Bermuda (essentially a category page).

I have been seeing this for over a year and they have done it for almost all their top pages and getting high visibility in google search drawing attention through the stars displayed.

This is the snippet code they have used (as I see from the page source):
<div itemscope="" itemtype="http://data-vocabulary.org/Review">
<span itemprop="itemreviewed">Attractions</span>
Rated by <span itemprop="reviewer">C. Dickinson</span>
Rating: <span itemprop="rating">4.6</span>

So my question is ... can I also use review snippets for my similar pages?

Would appreciate a guidance. Thanks.

Cliff jumping is nothing new to Bermudians who have been jumping off the rocks into water since ages. But now this fun but risky sport is attracting far more participation including visitors and lot more jumping locations are being discovered. Visiting Bermuda? Recently beach buses have been introduced in St. George's and St. David's that take you to several lovely beaches and historic forts at the eastern end of the island along with few other attractions. You can buy a day ticket and hop on & hop off the bus any number of times during the day. Great way to do a self guided tour of the beaches and forts. Go through the following link for full info:

Over the past couple of weeks, there was a stiff competition going on in Bermuda among the restaurants in the island. Bermuda Tourism Authority organized this competition to find out who makes the best fish sandwich in the island. 39 restaurants participated. Local residents voted during the initial rounds and judges chose the winner from the top five. Some of the criteria for selection included taste, presentation, local flair and value. And the grand winner was Rosa's (formerly known as Rosa's Cantina) located on Front Street, Hamilton which actually specializes in Mexican food. The other four in the top five are Mama Angie's, Sea Side Grill, Tribe Road Kitchen and Woody's. However one thing to note that Art Mel's (which is located in Hamilton and St. George's) was so far known as by far the best place to get fish sandwiches. However Art Mel's did not participate in the competition, possibly to avoid jeopardizing their reputation.

Dan B.

Is there a way in Google+ not to be unknowingly part of a group? Or get rid of passengers in the group taking advantage of nobody moderating?

Thank you,

Raj

Here is a great opportunity to experience Bermuda's traditional dance and music. Every Saturday starting June 6th until October 31st there will be live performances at Queen Elizabeth Park in Hamilton (easy walk from Hamilton ferry terminal). It starts with live Steelpan Music at 12noon, followed by an address from the Hamilton Town Crier, and then at 12:40pm Bermuda's Gombey Dancers perform in their full colorful costumes. Gombey is one of the oldest folk dance traditions of the island which originated from Afro-Caribbean cultural celebrations. Admission is free for all.
