Is Black Friday all marketing - are the savings real? Evidence shows price engineering by retailers. In 2012 it was the busiest day for shoppers. However, Dec. 24 was the 2nd busiest (via ShopperTrak). Plenty of retail goods are cheaper when it's not Black Friday. E.g. Elmo dolls, Uggs, Samsung TVs, and KitchenAid mixers. Consumer Reports indicates that many home appliances and small consumer electronics are cheapest in December. #blackfriday

Tool adds a map, images, and relevant info to the pins. http://techcrunch.com/2013/11/20/pinterest-place-pins/  We covered Grid app in Tips on Tap during The Digital Dive Podcast ep 24: www.thedigitaldivepodcast.com/truly-secure-messaging-data-encryption-and-twitter-faux-pas-episode-24/

Yikes. Sounds a lot like the codex.
The Biggest Threat to the Internet You've Probably Never Heard Of

We all worry about so many things that might impact the web.  Slow speeds. Governments pulling the plug. Spying by various agencies. Or IE or Flash or... other things.

The biggest threat is much more subtle and hidden and corrosive. It is the ability of entities to work through the standard lawful processes to get "agreements" and "laws" and "regulations" passed. All of this happens, mostly, above the board, in broad daylight, and yet in the normal underhanded one old hand greasing another old hand manner.

The TPP is a great example of it. This video is from June. I want to share it today more to make us all aware that threats to the web don't come from the obvious things we look at, they come from these types of initiatives.
