Our Hot Finds Editor writes: If you read the comments that get posted to the Hot Finds that I write about, you'll invariably find at least one comment for each item in which someone says "Nice to see you recommending that particular program.  I've been using it for a while and it really is as good as you say".
Have you ever thought about writing such a comment?  Have you ever been in the position to be able to?
If so, here's a plea from me.  If there's a great piece of freeware that you have been using regularly, or even something that you've only just discovered, I'd love to know about it.  I can then write about it on these pages.

Today I Found Out is a site whose focus is on learning something new every day. There is a large array of quick facts, articles, infographics etc. that should satisfy the mildest to most intensely curious of souls.

If you use Windows 8 and you haven't yet tried out the inbuilt app store, you need to find some time to do so within the next few weeks.
Microsoft announced yesterday that a major update for Win8, formerly known as Windows Blue but now officially called Windows 8.1.
Windows 8.1 will be free, for both Windows 8 and Windows RT, but the only way to get it will be via the Windows Store. So if you haven't already signed up, now is the time to do so.
