Yelp + Google rates Taste of India as the BEST Indian restaurant in Seattle and they were not lying. Hands down 5 stars on every account. The service was impeccable. They are very attentive and you will never need anything. They have amazing chai with unlimited free refills and the servers are constantly refreshing your cup if you want. The naan bread is HUGE. I ordered one serving and it was HUGE (enough for 2-3 people easily). The chicken tikka masala was perfect. My wife had the biryani and loved it. The portions were big enough for us to have lunch on them the next day. Five stars and a sixth for having a bowl of candy by the bathrooms! Oh, they also had a 15% off coupon for checking in on Yelp. Well done, Taste of India!

I ordered a few dishes for pick up. And was really dissatisfied with the overall taste and quality of food. I ordered Rogan josh with chicken and the gravy was a crappy tasting mesh of tomatoes and some sugary syrup. Of course, had to throw everything. The appetizers tasted okay. I ordered for two naans and received only one. I would not recommend this to anyone. It is not the taste of India for sure lol.

Good food, but a little on the pricey side if you are looking for a simple take out meal. However, the portions are insanely massive. The Naan is colossal. A good choice if you are looking for leftovers.

The Pros: The service was outstanding The atmosphere Complementary Aloo starter and dessert Good Naan Good Veggie Samosas The Cons: Ordered Chicken Tikka it was very low quality. It was an off red colour and ther was a strong tang of canned tomato sauce flavor. The Lamb Briani did not have a deep spicy flavor and the meat was a bit dry I wish I could bump my rating up to 3.5 stars but overall my experience was just okay. If the quality of the main dishes are constant, than Taste of India is a decent place to go if you've never tried Indian food ( or at least good American/Indian food). However, if you do have a lot of experience with Indian cuisine, this may not be the best choice for you. One last point I'm going to mention in hopes management reads this. When we asked for condiments like the pickled chutney, the server presented us with store bought jars of sauce. It was off putting. Like being presented with Heinz Ketchup. Between the not so great main dishes and this, taking that one extra step of putting the chutney in a ramekin would have left a much better impression. The restaurant is in a great location and there were a lot of little things about it that were good, but as it stands I would not recommend it.

This was a lovely dining experience. I came with a small group of friends and was seated immediately. They are extremely generous, offering a free appetizer as well as a free dessert (which nobody could finish because the portions are also generous.) The 4 of us decided to order 4 dishes and share family-style and ended up with enough to take home. Their bottomless chai rules! Some of the best Indian food I've had in the Seattle area. Not too overdone or heavy like most Indian restaurants that try to appeal to American diners. Will be back.
