Introduction
George M. White, Ph.D., is Associate Teaching Professor of Entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon University.  Dr. White started his career with Post Doctoral studies in Artificial Intelligence at Stanford University. After leaving Stanford, he joined the Xerox PARC Research Center where he founded and managed Xerox Corporation's speech research programs.  He then managed the West Coast Laboratory of the ITT Defense Communications Division in San Diego. He then started Koala Technologies, a publicly traded firm in the 1980s, developing touch tablets and other user interface devices.  He subsequently worked at Apple Computer where he was the founding manager of the Apple-ISS Research Center in Singapore.  After that he was Director of the Industrial Affiliates Program of the Center for the Study of Language and Information at Stanford University.  He then started NETalk Inc, which was acquired by a publicly traded company. After that he was Senior Vice President of Technology at NetByTel, Inc, where he was in charge of developing Voice User Interfaces.  He then joined the Institute for Infocomm Research in Singapore in 2002, where he was Principle Scientist and Head of Academic Affairs. He joined CMU in 2007
