Mollusk Brett Lab 10

Not really funky, mostly raspberry tart-sweet that dries quickly with a Siren's song for another delicious sip.

I'm pretty sure if I were an ancient mariner, I'd be toast.

Cheers!

Fort George Brewery From Astoria With Love Russian Imperial Stout.

Oh. My. Gods.

Big. Sweet. Licorice-y, smooth, and delicious.

Man, these guys rock.

Prosit!

No ducks or squirrels this time, just my favorite, albeit less accessible, member of Freemont's sibs.

More resinous and with a bigger malt backbone.

One I never pass up a chance to have.

Prosit!

Crappy day outside fit only for ducks and apparently obsessive squirrels trying to get to the bird feeder.

So kicking back between Sunday chores with this dark funky brew.

Tart, funky, fruity, musty is how I'd call it. I'm digging it.

Cheers!

The Best Laid Plans...

Well, the plan was to start my dovetail-a-day a week ago today. Well, life and general personal energy levels put the kibosh on that.

However, today I was able to bang out one and am planning on keeping this going. We'll see what Life has to say about that as the week progresses.

Biggest problem with this one is I started one cut on the pins from the side nearest me vs the back edge and nibbling in towards me. The cutting the side of the other pin looks and fits better so will focus on that for next time.

Generally I'm pleased with my sawyermanship (if that's even real term...); I didn't have a problem cutting to the line and the cuts are generally on track. I think my chisel may need a touchup as the 1/2 in didn't seem as sharp as the 3/4. So before I get to my next one, gonna break out sharpening gear and touch up that edge.

Here to working towards 7 more to by this time next week.

Hanging with The Local Boys for a pint or so and some take home too.

Rolled for my first, and came up with Rooftop Brewing's Black IPA (CDA).

Really dig a tasty CDA.

Cheers!

Ruben's Brews - Daily Pale

For an IPA that clocks in on the low end of the scale, this has all the bite and mouth feel of it's beefier brethren.

It'd be easy schemesy to plow thru a sixer.

Prosit!
