Phil Melugin is President and Founder of Phoenix Home Care, a Springfield, Missouri-based home healthcare provider. In this capacity, Phil Melugin seeks to provide clients the ability to become more independent and find a better quality of life. Earning millions of dollars in its first year in business, Phoenix Home Care is expanding rapidly throughout Missouri and Kansas.
Phoenix Home Care’s success is the latest in a career of achievements for the healthcare administrator. After achieving a B.S. degree from Friend’s University in Wichita, Phil Melugin advanced to Wichita State University, where his studies focused on counseling. He received his Master of Education from the university in 1990.
Upon graduation, Phil Melugin worked at Conservco and Intracor in Wichita. There, he served as a counselor, assisting those who had been injured on the job in their quest to return to work. It was through these experiences that Phil Melugin began to hone his gift of working empathetically with others.
In 1992, Phil Melugin joined Oxford Health Care as vice president. In this position, he managed contracts and handled the company’s marketing efforts as he began to learn the health care industry. After seven years with Oxford Health Care, Phil Melugin moved to Integrity Home Care, serving as president and co-owner of a health care business that employed thousands of workers, serving thousands of clients.
Phil Melugin founded Phoenix Home Care in 2011, with an emphasis on Christ-like values and individualized care. Every employee of Phoenix Home Care upholds Phil Melugin’s mission of providing in-home healthcare with empathy, integrity, and quality. Within the first year of existence, Phoenix Home Care caught the attention of the Springfield Business Journal, which awarded the company with an economic impact award for outstanding success in its first years of existence.
Even in a tough economy, Phoenix Home Care has continued to thrive. Phil Melugin points out that the company is always looking for good healthcare workers, with the company expanding its offices in both Kansas and Missouri. Phil Melugin foresees far more growth in the future and is open to any new opportunities to provide quality home healthcare to those who need it.
Over the course of his healthcare administration career, Phil Melugin has served on several industry-specific boards, including several that advocate for improvement in the ABD community. Phil Melugin’s advisory experience also includes serving as president for an industry-related statewide association. Recently, Melugin was asked to serve on a local Bank Advisory Board as well.
Phil Melugin lives in Missouri, where he is the proud father of three children. His oldest son just began medical school at Kansas University and his oldest daughter is pursuing a Physical Therapy doctorate degree. His youngest daughter, a high school student, enjoys horseback riding with her father. Phil Melugin is also active in his church, located in Nixa, Missouri.
