There are 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Can you name them? Number six is an easy one but difficult to achieve: clean water and sanitation. By 2030, the goal is to create universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all. Nexus and its members are working towards this goal and the other ‪#‎SDGs‬. How can drinking cleaner water prevent carbon emissions? When purifiers are used to filter drinking water instead of boiling it using fuelwood, no emissions are produced. This is what TerraClear is accomplishing with their ceramic water purifiers. The use of each water purifier prevents one tonne of carbon from entering the atmosphere each year. We are proud to announce that TerraClear has received an issuance of 9,249 GS-VERs for emissions prevented between July 2012 and July 2014. This is the first time that carbon credits have been issued for a clean water project in Lao PDR.
