Response from the owner - a year ago
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and I am so sorry you feel we do not support our community by not allowing our restrooms to be available to the public. The RiverPlace and 3 Degrees are very passionate about giving back to our community. Our employees have volunteered their time and money to support; Give to Troops, Willamette RiverKeeper, Leukemia Society Team in Training, and many other local organizations.
I am also sorry we are unable to afford offering our restrooms to the public. The cost of soap, paper products, and labor to upkeep the restrooms becomes extremely expensive when we open our restrooms to anyone who visits the RiverPlace community. Please keep in mind if you or any of the dragon boaters do eat or drink at our restaurant you are more than welcome to use our restrooms.
I recently meet with the organizers of the Dragon Boaters and have expressed my concerns about the amount of traffic we receive throughout the day (We were averaging 30+ dragon boaters a day who used our faculties, none by the way were patrons of our restaurant) I do feel that the organizers’ of the Dragon Boat community should be the ones responsible in providing their participates a place to change and use the restroom not the hotel or restaurant. Your organizers told me that the their participates should be using the public bathrooms provided by the city and not the hotels restrooms. There is a public restroom underneath the Hawthorne bridge which is less than a 2 minute walk and a 2nd public bathroom in the opposite direction which should take no more than 4 to 5 minutes to reach by foot. Again, we want to be good neighbors, we do support our community but I simply ask you to request your organizers to be responsible for your bathroom needs.
