Visited the museum today for the second time this week with my wife and 12 month old daughter. This place has so much to see and do. There are three levels all filled with activities for anyone of any age (even myself at a patent age I had a blast!). The "tots" zone is especially great for my toddler since the area wasn't too crowded like the rest of the place and had plenty of activities to keep my daughters attention for a couple hours. We bought a year membership which we believe is a great value. Food prices are very reasonable and all of the staff was very helpful and courteous.

We visited this museum while here on a mini vacation and let me tell you, it was awesome! I have 5 children ages 16, 13, 10, 5 & 16 months. We all had a blast! I strongly disagree with it not being suitable for younger children. This place is designed to engage children of all ages in pretend and role play. We played hard for over 5 hours. We loved it! What an amazing family experience we will all remember for years to come!!! Oh, and I should also mention the staff. I was impressed by their patience and willingness to talk with and encourage the kids throughout their learning experiences. Houston is blessed to have such a great resource and the right people in place to make it all possible. Great Job!

This is such a cool place! Take your kids here. It doesn't matter what age... There's something for everyone. My 2 year old had so much fun in the toddler area, outside, and even in some of the areas that are clearly for older children. The have a cafe inside too, which was nice.

Visited this place a month back. The special zone for toddlers was very good as it was restricted from older kids. Toddlers were able to play freely as this section is not very crowded. Games for older kids with very different & though provoking concepts is the highlight. It's just not a place for games for fun. Kids get interested with a lot of scientific concepts for e.g. Viscosity, Elasticity etc. Good place for a half a day outing. Cafeteria was also good with some reasonably good options.

Great for kids and tods - got a special tods area which is great instead of going to the mall. Don't go in the weekends. Way too busy. They have WiFi and small restaurant

I have been a member with the CM for 4 years now and I thought that having my son's birthday party would have been a great idea, but it wasn't. I am the typical very busy moms who works hard for my kids so after setting everything up and coordinating the birthday party, it was important that the muesum held up to their agreement. We use about 4 children's party vendors per year therefore we're pretty experienced and realistic on what to expect and the agreement process. They told me once I got to the front door, I would be greeted and lead to my room, from there, the staff would take Care of everything and completely lead the party so I could enjoy the party with my son such as, lead the schedule on time, agenda host, direct, set-up decorations, entertain guest. This sound like the perfect situation since I had my 12 month old to also care for while trying to welcome, entertain and socialize with the parents in my son's class. This idea was understood, reassured and SOLD to me but it was NOT DELIVERED. I asked the the 2 hostess/staff to help set up the decorations and they had no idea to put party decoration that were just to be placed on the tables. I let them know this was our FIRST time having a party here and didn't know what is the typical agenda, They answered, "oh, we take you down stairs for 1 hour and then we take you upstairs to eat for the last hour. " I hoped there was more to that but it wasn't. Throughout the party they had left several times when they were suppose to be with us and the guest to help with the experiments. They stayed for 15mibs and said they were going up stairs to check on the food. They stood around for the parts they were there, said nothing to my guest & we all stood wondering what was happening. They would direct questions that they are suppose to answer to me. Once I had to leave the party on 3 different occasions bc they were late starting the party, they never came back to gather the party back up stairs to eat. Again, I had to spend time gathering the guest rather than being with my son just to look for them or to find a staff member to call for them. outside gathered my guest to join the party. then I asked if guest could begin to eat, they answered me but continued to stand around. I got up and initiated to invite everyone to eat. while guest were eating I would think they would entertain us some how...but only crickets. I tried to just enjoy what was left of the party. I then looked around to see if the could help me pass out the ice cream to the guest, they were Again GONE. Then I discover the ice creram was LEFT OUT, never put in the freezer. Guest are usually attending to their kids so I had to pass out all melted ice cream and the party gifts. They finally came back and they started the birthday cake. After the song, they handed me the knife and walked away while the left for the plates and utensils. They dropped off the items and left again for me to cut & serve the cake. This party was exhausting and not relaxing as they had said it would be. i lead the whole party when they promised to do on my behalf. MY family and Did not enjoy the party. Guest could tell I was stressed having to alway look for our hostess. TheyDID NOT MAKE THIS AN ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE FROM sTART TO FINISH. IT WAS NOT WORTH THE MONEY WE SPENT. My son was very upset that we didn't spend time together because he want me to get to know his classmates. I was also disappointed. I email the staff to the party coordinator about all the mishaps that occurred at the party, I recieved NO RESPONSE from anyone. I expected more from the CHILDREN'S MUSEUM. WORSE BIRTHDAY EXPERIENCE ever.

I can’t brag enough about how awesome this Children’s Museum is! The newest installment is going to get your kids really going. The Top Secret Spy missions gets the imagination going and is an interactive game that makes you feel like you are a real spy in the movies. It is geared towards kids 8 years old and up! My husband and I enjoyed ourselves playing with our daughter as well. The whole encounter really helps set the mood the moment you enter the Top Secret area you quickly realize that you are not in the typical Children’s Museum but THE BEST CHILDREN’S MUSEUM in the US. They have a Top Secret location for your kids to enter into so they can be transformed into a spy and make their Secret Agent code name! The lobby is full of all of the SPY X products that you can purchase, which was awesome for me because I had to order a lot of the same products online last year for my daughter. They have walkie talkies, night goggles, invisible ink pens, science experiments, spy gear and more. The CM Staff are transformed into “Special Agent” helpers and are very helpful to each agent that decides to take on a Top Secret Mission, if they get a little lost. This whole experience had my family excited to do our next mission. This is just in time for the holidays when the kids are just sitting at home but you still want them to work that brain muscle. This activity allowed my 3rd grader a chance to problem solve, read, comprehend, continue to learn new things and most of all have FUN. At the end of her mission she was trapped in this secret box with laser beams, she had to unlock 4 boxes to deactivate the unit. Seeing the red laser lights really got her blood pumping she was so excited to climb thru the lasers like a real spy, that is all she could talk about. I applaud this museums awesome efforts because they really do consider everyone. All of there activities are wheel chair accessible. They decorate for every holiday and there is always something new. We are members of the museum and each time we visit we have a different experience. After our visit my daughter would not stop talking about being Special Agent Ladybug Tornado and she had 5 more missions to complete. The next morning my husband and I woke up to our house being booby trapped with all of her spy gear, while her and her little sister were dressed in black clothes playing Spys! I knew then we would be going back very soon. Thanks again for the great memories and keep helping the kids be kids.

My wife and I took our two small boys here and they had alot of fun. There is so much to do and see. Very fun and educational. They have a place for small infants to play as well. The outdoor waterworks exhibit was really cool. My oldest son loved it. We were there on a day when some sort of school had a field trip there. There were alot of other kids but it didn't feel too overcrowded. There is a nice place to sit and enjoy lunch as well.
