The culminating project for our latest reading unit involved drawing and coloring a character from our beloved series books. Then we wrote how that character felt, making sure to use text evidence. Look how beautifully they turned out!

On Monday, we got to meet the published author, Anica Mrose Rissi! She told us all about the publishing process and where she gets her ideas. She even shared a tip about overcoming writer’s block - allow yourself to write a bad book!! We especially loved hearing Anica read aloud her own picture book, The Teacher’s Pet.
