Every time someone says "we can't really afford that right now" or "we could spend that money better here on Earth" I remind them of the $680 billion the US spend on weapons in 2012. That's more than NASA's entire budget since it has been in existence, including putting men on the moon.

Corporations will always try to control products, services, sales and the consumer. If they didn't see this as a threat to their bottom line they wouldn't give a shit.

Why was MegaUpload really shut down?

In December of 2011, just weeks before the takedown, Digital Music News reported on something new that the creators of #Megaupload were about to unroll. Something that would rock the music industry to its core. (http://goo.gl/A7wUZ)

I present to you... MegaBox. MegaBox was going to be an alternative music store that was entirely cloud-based and offered artists a better money-making opportunity than they would get with any record label.

"UMG knows that we are going to compete with them via our own music venture called Megabox.com, a site that will soon allow artists to sell their creations directly to consumers while allowing artists to keep 90 percent of earnings," MegaUpload founder Kim 'Dotcom' Schmitz told Torrentfreak

Not only did they plan on allowing artists to keep 90% of their earnings on songs that they sold, they wanted to pay them for songs they let users download for free.

"We have a solution called the Megakey that will allow artists to earn income from users who download music for free," Dotcom outlined. "Yes that's right, we will pay artists even for free downloads. The Megakey business model has been tested with over a million users and it works."

One of the best things about being self employed is having great clients to work for. I am lucky that way.

Big changes coming soon to Google Search, the WSJ reports. Actually, what it writes about is already here. It sounds like we're going to get more direct answers, but I don't think it will be quite the massive change as described. We'll see. My take, below.

Google is set to trial a TV service to rival the cable networks.

It sounds like the package would offer both live TV and on-demand, but would be delivered to the home via the Internet (fiber optic connections).

Could be very disruptive if it succeeds.

After playing with Search Plus, I was pretty stunned to find the Google+ suggestions show up even if you're logged out and anonymous to Google. There are serious issues in how it's pushing Google+ this way. And it also means, for marketers, you'd better have a Google+ account.

Chris and Brad at Elite Trade Painting in Calgary were great to work with. They did everything they said in the quote, and they were on time too. Their cleanup was also very thorough, which was important to me after a previous bad experience with another painter. Thanks guys.

Jason and the guys at Rhyno's Landscaping are awesome. They do excellent work, are right on schedule and the price is right. I have no problems at all hiring them back again and again.

Meal Easy's meal planning was exactly what I needed to get my eating habits under control. It took very little effort on my part to eat healthier. As a result, I've lost weight and also got my blood pressure and cholesterol under control. Thanks!
