GRADES2016 workshop on Graph Data management Experiences & Systems will be held next 24th of June 2016, just before SIGMOD/PODS 2016, in Redwood Shores in the Oracle Conference Center. GRADES is a great forum to discuss (early) work on graph processing systems, algorithms for processing large-scale graphs and their application scenarios, as well as performance experiences (including systems benchmarking).

Presentation by Martin Junghanns (University of Leipzig) of the Gradoop Framework at the FOSDEM 2016 GraphDevroom. The slides are about the extended property graph model, its operators and how they are implemented on top of Apache Flink, a distributed dataflow framework. The talk also includes a social network analysis example and some benchmark results on scalability.

We are welcoming Martin Junghanns to LDBC blog today sharing his project at Leipzig University to transform the LDBC Datagen output files into Apache Flink data sets that can be used by Flink's DataSet API for further processing.

Apache Flink is an open source platform for distributed stream and batch data processing that provides libraries for machine learning, graph processing and SQL-like operations.

Blog post by Irini Fundulaki (ICS, FORTH): "Elements of instance matching benchmarks: a short overview". It is essential to develop, along with instance and entity matching systems, instance matching benchmarks to determine the weak and strong points of those systems, as well as their overall quality in order to support users in deciding the system to use for their needs.
