Strategen has a long working history with CITIC Pacific Sino Iron Mine and are proud to see their continuation proposal has been approved to enable the expansion of their mining operation to approximately 2060.

Sino Iron Mine is a fully integrated mining, processing and export operation, producing high quality magnetite concentrate.

Strategen worked with CITIC Pacific to gain the expansion approval from the Environmental Protection Authority in a short time-frame, by preparing a thorough Referral Supporting Document, thus allowing the proposal to be assessed on referral information under the new assessment framework.

Don't hesitate to touch base with our mining team on 9380 3100 to discuss any environmental requirements you may need.

Strategen’s specialist air dispersion modeller Miles Sowden from SigmaTheta Pty Ltd was awarded the Innovative Presentation award at the Clean Air of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ) 2017 conference recently held in Brisbane.

His paper titled “Monitoring Regional Aerosol Using Himawari Geostationary Data - A Pilot Study” described findings from his PhD studies into long range dust impacts in the Pilbara. Miles has been downloading terabytes of data each day for the past year from the HIMAWARI geostationary satellite that measures infra-red radiation reflected from fine particles in the air.

The key benefit of his work is the development of a technique that will significantly improve the temporal resolution of remote sensing data for fine dust particles and better understand the spatiotemporal distribution of fine particles in remote locations that can contribute to the background levels in populated areas.

The current research has clearly shown a direct link between exposures to fine particles and a range of adverse health impacts, so a better understanding of the sources and factors that give rise to the particles that we breathe is critical to understanding the risks and ultimately implementing measures to reduce those risks for the community.

Congratulations Miles and keep up the good work!

Please don’t hesitate to contact Strategen if you require assistance in all aspects of air pollution emissions assessments, controls and regulatory matters.

If your land development project involves clearing native vegetation, the new Zoology team at Strategen is here to help!

Increasingly, land development projects require a trapping and relocation program to be undertaken prior to clearing.

We have the experience and expertise to undertake relocation work as well as subsequent on-site fauna handling during clearing.

Growth and development underpin almost everything we do.

At Strategen we realise that growth and development is sometimes not that easy, especially when it comes to children.

This weekend, members of the Strategen team will be taking part in the 24hr fitness challenge for Telethon.

Riding a spin cycle bike non-stop, our team will rotate through the full 24hrs at the PCEC to help raise funds for this much loved and iconic charity.
