Oh wow! I hate hearing stories like this. I had a babysitter that I learned to stay out of her reach. She had me from the age of 2 1/2 to about 6'ish and I was hit (all in the line of spanking a child that was high strung but obedient if that makes sense), forced to eat food I hated, put down, made to sleep in her son's wet bed, chased from school & taunted by HER children who egged on other kids from school, hid in a closet in apartments being built, etc... It beats at a child's self-esteem. They say that children are resilient but I don't think they are to that degree. Those that recover are blessed because they have parents like you who put their family first and support and encourage them as they get older. Please be sure to talk with your son as he gets older and answer his questions - don't sweep it under the rug. That only teaches him that he is not valued and that what happened is somehow his fault and it's something to be ashamed of. You ARE making a difference in his young life and one day he will understand how blessed he is that you are there for him. Keeping your family in my prayers & sending hugs your way ~ Tina

Yes, ultimately all you can do is the best you can and leave the rest up to God to shelter, guide and help him as he gets older and goes out on his own. You sound like you are just the parents he needs. =D

Try this natural protein treatment for hair - with clorine and other crud from the summer (bugs, sweat, dirt, etc) you might find it helpful!

Hey everyone - trying to figure out what to do with the kids this summer but the budget is tight? You might look at the Summer Survival Calendar! I got a copy and it's packed with things to do with the kids this summer - most are FREE or cheap and include all recipes, links, instructions you could need - http://familyliteracy2.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-2013-summer-survival-calendar.html
