Not many people use studio these days for family photography, I think most of us are still scarred from being posed and photographed in studios with cheesey mottled backgrounds… you know the type. I myself encourage my clients to be photographed in a place that they connect with. Whether that is the family home, garden, beach, bush or parkland.
However one place where the studio comes into it’s own is for individual portraits, It’s a fun place to be and fun place to create wonderful images. It doesn’t have to be formal and posed you can just be. Here’s a selection of Marley having some fun in our studio.

Cheviot Beach Pt Nepean
For me landscape photography is about connecting with place, trying to understand and capture the emotion that it elicits from me. For me Cheviot beach as a powerful timeless aspect, it cares littles for the comings and goings of humanity, for more images from the Picture of the week series click on the post below

I love the emotion from the batsmen in this pick, I had no connection with the game. I just loved the scene so was photographing it when this happened. I also like the fact that the bowler is appealing to me.. couldn’t set that up if you tried. Sometimes stuff just works
