The US is losing current, detailed social and economic statistics | June 11, 2012

On May 10, 2012, The House of Representatives passed House Appropriations Bill HR 5326. ¹ An amendment (H.AMDT.1077) by Representative Daniel Webster, R-Fla. ² eliminates the Economic Census ³ and the American Community Survey ⁴ which are conducted by the United States Census Bureau.

Representative Ron Paul R-Tex. has spoken out against the American Community Survey for being too intrusive. ⁵ He has also criticized it as going beyond what the Constitution mandated when it called for enumeration. ⁶
