This place is great. Good coffee, food, and atmosphere. Parking can be a nightmare as it's ON 12th South, but there's usually a spot in the back

Cute little coffee shop. Theres plenty of places to sit and street parking is available (free) if the lot in front and behind is full. Good tasting coffee and the menu looks great too although I didnt taste anything from it.

Coffee show is pretty decent, really good if you want to get work done and find a quite corner. They do not have a chemex or other brewing equipments. But you can buy their coffee beans.

Good coffee shop, but couldn't do a flat white on request. No big deal, other drinks were tasty.

My home away from home for four years now. Their coffee is the best in town (I take home the Italian roast beans), food is fine, and the internet is fairly stable. It's very minimalist, affordable, and consistent. That's what I want in a coffee shop.

For some time Portland Brew was my favorite new place in town. I loved going there to do my homework or getting some alone time to read and write or to simply relax. I had been going there regularly for some time and I considered myself a regular. I was about a year or two in of being a customer and one day something happened that made me never want to return. My mother always warns me about places like Portland Brew-basically telling me just because I can walk through the front door like everyone else doesn't mean I should expect to be treated like everyone. She always tells me I get to comfortable with white people and their stores (sorry but I'm a very diverse person and I take pride in that). She hated when I would tell I was headed to PB for a few hours. Well after defending PB over and over again, I finally got her to come with one day. I was determined to prove to her they were not how she thought they were. The staff was nice. Friendly. Cool. I liked them. Never once did I feel uncomfortable or out of place. We arrived there and everything was going smooth. The staff members greeted me as usual. We chitchatted( not sure if this is even a word but oh well!) for a while in between me trying to order something other than my usual. Then the guys that usually take my order left and then She came out. I don't remember her name was and actually I had never even seen her there so for the sake of this long comment I turned into a short story her name will be She (Capital S of course). She was so rude. She made me angry honestly but I did not want to turn into that stereotypical all in your face, loud, ready to beat you down black girl- but She kind of deserved it. I was in "their" coffee shop after all. To make matters worse She decided to be there and act this way with me while - you guessed it- my mother was there! The person I had been defending this place to was there watching all of it ready to say something. But back to She. She had the worst attitude with me but was just as nice as could be with everyone else - everyone else who had blue eyes and straight blonde hair like her that is. She slammed my food on the table then tried to over charge me for something but little did She know I was regular so I knew majority of the prices by heart. I couldn't believe it. Who was this lady? She didn't belong at PB. She messed up the "Hey, welcome. Sit back and relax" atmosphere. Then I thought to myself was it me who never belonged at PB... It was "their" coffee shop after all. After I walked away my mother told me how She watched me all the way to our table like my presence at PB made her skin crawl, like I was messing up her day. This happened two summers ago. And I still remember it like it was yesterday. I was so angry and shocked. Since then I haven't returned to PB and I don't think I never will. I do miss the place though. I've thought about going there and telling them about what happened but every since that day I don't even look at the place the same. I'll give them 5 stars I guess for all the interesting conversations I had and all the fun, down to earth people I met. Really I'll give them 5 stars because when you rate something 5 stars it says "loved it" which is exactly how I used to feel about PB. Once upon a time I loved going to that place.
