We were lucky enough to get a table at De Silveren Spiegel during our visit to Amsterdam. Boy, what a great way to end an already amazing family holiday! We ordered the 4-course tasting menu, which included a veal appetizer, a scallop course, a beef course, and a strawberry dessert. Each course presents the main ingredient in different ways. For example, the scallop course featured a whole scallop as well as an absolutely mind-blowing scallop souffle, complemented with garnishings of course. Just the right combination of intriguing flavors, interesting preparations, and recognizable, local ingredients. Bravo! I want to especially recognize and commend the way De Silveren Spiegel accommodated our complex allergy issues. One of our kids is allergic to peanuts; the other is allergic to seafood (yes, we hit the jackpot...). Both very severe. I asked in advance whether they could accommodate us, and again when we ordered. The personnel and the chef went above and beyond the call, in a way that was both professional and caring. For our son, they substituted a delicious-looking quail course for the scallop entree. For our daughter, we only asked them that they not use almonds in the strawberry dessert (we worry about cross-contamination). That would have been enough for us. Yet, they went the extra mile, and replaced her dessert with a different one, I assume so as to preserve the integrity of the chef's creation. Wow! One last note: the building itself is noteworthy, as it dates back from 1614.

Had an incredible meal, it was quite the introduction to Amsterdam on my first day here. The food was excellent and the service was very attentive. They made my food gluten-free but it didn't feel any lesser or less attended to than the other diners at my table. I will definitely return!

Outstanding! Best meal we've had in Europe. Food meticulously prepared, presented by a delightful and attentive waitstaff. Order the 3- or 4-course menu, or a la carte, and enjoy every delicious mouthful.

One of the best restaurant in Amsterdam ! It's located in a very old house which is beautiful and worse the detour for itself. The dinner was delicious. I honestly didn't expect this quality ! Service was excellent.

This was not our first visit to this restaurant but the new chef Yves surprised us with his great cooking skills. Jim van der Hoff again excelled in his knowledge and the choice of great wines he served with our dinner. We were honoured to be served by the lovely hostess Francisca van der Hoff, who was most kind to us. It was also nice to see the other the staff of De Silveren Spiegel after a long time. It remains special to dine in such a fantastic setting. We would like to thank the owners Jim and Francisca van der Hoff, who have brought us a great evening with their cheerful, friendly and knowledgeable presence.

Food plating was among the best I've ever seen. Food was very tasty. Excellent atmosphere + exuberant staff. Caveats: I went with a large party prix-fixe, so the experience may be non-standard. It was long, but paced accordingly [4 hour meal] which has downsides if you weren't expecting it.
