Introduction

Barbara Barr is News 8's Lebanon County reporter.

Lancaster is Barbara's hometown and she moved back to the Susquehanna Valley in November 2004 to join the News 8 team.

Barbara is a graduate of McCaskey High School. She received her bachelor's degree from Boston University and her master's degree from American University.

Aside from reporting the news, Barbara has worked as a basketball commentator in England, where she also played for a pro basketball team. Back in the United States, Barbara has worked for television stations in Maine, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.

Barbara says her most exciting professional moment was flying with the Air Force Thunderbirds in an F-16.

Barbara enjoys sports, traveling and reading. Her favorite books are "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens and "The Man In The Iron Mask" by Alexandre Dumas. On the silver screen, Barbara's favorites are "Casablanca" and "Gone With The Wind."
