I've eaten there about 10 times, I usually order the same thing - Vegetarian Pad Thai. Now the first one they made was outstanding, it was fresh, used lime, had a great blend of lightness and flavour. Great food. Unfortunately the next 9 pad thai's have ranged from 'ok' to 'mediocre'. I don't know if they change cooks but the quality drop has been noticeable. They moved to lemon instead of lime, half of the time I couldn't even notice the coriander. The dish went from a vegetable/tofu & noodle blend to 90%+ noodles and a few tiny pieces of veges. Bland. Not that lovely flavour + lightness combo that a good pad thai is. They do well in Murwillumbah because there isn't much competition. The food is a solid "good" but I am hoping they reach that "excellent" experience that I had the first time I went there. Restaurants in this town are all very poor and they would all go out of business if they were based on the Gold Coast or an Australian city. Nam Yeng is a step above the others, but a lot of room for improvement.
