Just for fun  -

The Burger King Twitter account was hacked by someone claiming to be McDonald's. This will be interesting to see how the BK #PR folks react...

Questions  -

Is there a free or inexpensive analytics tool for Google+?

I use HootSuite Pro for Facebook and Twitter but I have a new client coming aboard and they require a Google+ account. HootSuite Pro doesn't really have great analytics for Google+ and my client's budget isn't large enough for me to get a HootSuite Enterprise account. Any tips?

Thanks Christopher. I saw this article and thought it might be helpful too.

Questions  -

I know it's still relatively early but is it correct to assume that Facebook's Graph Search seems like it might favor 'Likes' over actual engagement? Could that could put additional emphasis on advertising?

+Amy Vernon Interesting... and I agree with you, the potential is there and has some awesome market research implications. I guess we'll just have to see if it catches on with the masses!

Also, I wonder if the creep factor will discourage people from sharing as freely as they currently do on FB. For me, I've already gone through and deleted the majority of my "likes" and personal information and cranked up the privacy settings. I don't want to show up in people's search results, even if they are my friends!

I just installed the Do Share extension to my Google Chrome browser and it seems pretty neat. I am testing it out before I use it for client profiles. Any tips/warnings/successes I should know about?

I use it daily. I did have some glitches when I was using it on my desktop (Windows 8) but since I switched to Chromebook, the extension is much more smooth. Only drawback is if your computer goes to sleep or is turned off, it will not send. I find that happens to me often. Keep an eye on that.

I have used Woobox before for Facebook promotions. It is a useful tool if you need to run promotions on a budget. Using Woobox and SCRIBD, you can run the whole thing for free (or very inexpensively). That said, if you have a budget, I'd suggest ShortStack - they are my favorite platform for bigger budget contests, etc. There are other services like Wildfire as well, but I find ShortStack gives you the biggest bang for your buck when we're talking about paid promotions.
