(Pre-)announcing my new project - VaLLVM.  It is suppose to be a collection of #llvm  passes for optimizing #Vala . Any critique of the idea welcome (critique of code will need to wait till it is published).

+Gabriel Gonzalez hits the nail on the head with this one!
Haskell programmers commonly say that Haskell code is easy to reason about, but rarely explain why. This stems from one simple guiding principle: Haskell is simple by default. Wait, what? Are we talking about the same languag...

Part II of series describing how to preserve #ABI   compatibility in #vala   libraries. This part describe what to watch out for.
In previous post I've described what ABI is. Now the time for potential problems which you can run into with Vala - unfortunately the list might not complete so please threat it as a guideline rath...

You will be able to use all electronics as long as they don't send or receive messages. I'm not sure about EU but in US the additional requirement is that you need to hold them (so Kindle or Nexus 7 is fine but laptop isn't) - which make sense as you won't block anything by holding them while it's harder to evacuate with, say, 17" laptop.

If you wondered what is the purpose of #badbios  (apparently posted in 2009).
He made it to the FBI’s Most Wanted List when it was discovered that the virus also converted all your music files to Nickelback songs.

Everyone knows that you need to bend the paradigms in real life and being purely function programming language like #haskell  means  no "real" programmer will ever like you, right?

(As added benefit - an interesting site about FP I didn't know about)
John Carmack (@ID_AA_Carmack) is a legend. He has been a legend (in our opinion) since Commander Keen was released in 1990 for Id Software. In the world of 3d gaming John and his team has had many ...

Hi,

I am trying to optimize the startup performance of system and one of elements slowing it down is mounting of /home. Is it possible to achive at the same time inside /etc/fstab:

    - Mounting /home not as part of local-fs.target so it won't be part of critical path
    - Mounting /home eagerly so it won't be mounted when the user try to log in but in the meantime

Best regards

This seems to work. It can maybe be improved?

* Create a mount unit (easist is to copy the generated unit.)
cp /run/systemd/generator/home.mount /etc/systemd/system/

* Remove SourcePath and Before=local-fs.target. Add Before=x where x=any unit that needs /home, e.g. Before=graphical.target.

* ln -s /etc/systemd/system/home.mount /etc/systemd/system/graphical.target.wants/home.mount

* Remove /home from fstab.
