Great neighborhood restaurant undaunted by the 2nd Avenue Subway. Food is great. Service is great. Crowd is great and the noise level is what you would expect......high energy. Dale loves the risotto. I think the liver with sauteed onions is best in NY. We brought one of our 24 year old friends and she was very comfortable with the mix of generations.

Management don't care about you they only try to accomodate as many people as possible. Waiters are not coming to check if the food is ok and when you talk to them they kind of ignore you. They clear the plates even if the others are still eating. You have the feeling that they want you to eat fast pay and go you don't even have to ask for the bill and it is on the table Never again Ronit Dinour

The chicken parm is on another level. I suggest half orders of their pasta for appetizers. Pricey but very much worth it. Make a reservation.

A masterpiece of hubris and conceit, Elio's caters to the rich and famous, which means they couldnt care less about the rest of us. There are at least a dozen places in the neighborhood with better cuisine, and decidedly friendlier service. Food was very authentic and tasted great, but the service wasn't the best. For the price, I would expect the waiters to at least greet you when you walk in. Appetizers were extremely overpriced (about $12 for prosciutto and 3 slices of melon) but overall, I would suggest this place if you want real-deal Italian.
