I just got back from a long, but wonderful trip to the American Choral Directors Association Southern Division Conference. It was great to work with Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt for the weekend, and get to see so many good performances and workshops. I just wish that these conferences gave you more opportunities to see everything so you don't have to choose.

Dear choral friends. If you ever let me go that long without finding out about a wonderful new to the scene composer, as it did with +Ola Gjeilo, I'm disowning you. In other words, make sure you get the new Phoenix Chorale CD featuring his works - it is marvelous!

Is spending thanksgiving with the family, and installing Ubuntu on the desktop...if I like it enough, I'm definitely making this laptop a dualboot machine! (I can't ditch windows because I need it for work and school!)

Cleaning the choir room is always a productive use of the day. Of course, that means that the choral library is a hot mess, but that's another project in itself anyway! At least I'm getting a chance to really see what is in this room and what I need to get.

No lie - this was 9:30 this morning - all the way from Rhode Island Ave to Silver Spring...just me and an empty metro car. It was almost spooky.
