The pizza is amazing beyond words!!! ...that is when they get it right! The issue is that apes are smarter than the waitresses there! Seriously, there is only 1 waitress who is very nice and does her job right. The rest are just dumb bimbos who cannot take down a food order correctly.

Solid food, solid service. I've liked everything I ordered there, especially the chicken piccata. I wouldn't say their Italian food is the best I've ever had, but it's far better than Olive Garden. Their pizza is also, as others have said, quite good. As for the service, it is not the best or fastest, but they are friendly, and I haven't had any major issues. Drinks are 2-for-1 every day. I always sit in the restaurant, not the bar. The bar is too loud, and I don't like the clientele that goes in there. But I love going to the restaurant. We usually go once or twice a month. Some have complained about roaches, but I haven't seen any. I WILL say that I live in this part of Tampa, and roaches fly into the door when you open it (Asian roaches, which live outside & fly, are often mistaken for German ones). A roach here or there doesn't necessarily mean a restaurant is dirty, it may just mean the door was open at some point. If you're only seeing one, and not seeing any other signs of roaches (droppings, eggs, or smell), I personally wouldn't worry about it. A true roach infestation is pretty hard to hide, and the health inspectors look for them. They were closed once in 2011 for health violations, but they say they have completely revamped the place, and the fact they haven't been shut down once since indicates this is probably true. If you're really worried about it, call & report them & see.

The service is lacking, but some of these reviews are complete idiots. This Pizza is some of the best in town.. I understand that it's all opinion, but to say that it's a tad bit better than pizza hutt? You must not have taste buds.

I was (until tonight) a fairly regular customer of CDB's. Typically, once a week we go there for pizza. Great pizza. We had never had any other item on the menu, but, as it was my birthday, I asked to go there for dinner. I got the seafood pasta with shrimp, scallops, and crab. This sounded wonderful, smothered in garlic butter white sauce. Oh boy. What a terrible meal. The crab was fake - yes fake!! You know, the stuff you buy at Publix made from some kind of fish and made to taste like crab. Could not believe it. The menu did not read imitation crab, it read crab. So, that is what a customer should get, don't you think? I definitely would not have ordered the dish if I had known it didn't contain real crab. I have to back up a bit here and mention that I bit into an exceptionally chewy - something. It turned out to be a piece of plastic wrap. Ok, so accidents happen and this was unfortunate, but I can overlook accidents. So, when the server came back (server 0017), she asked how things were. I showed her the plastic, she apologized and that was that - all is good. When I told her the crab was fake and the scallops tasted bitter (I have not experienced that before), she said she didn't know much about seafood. I couldn't eat the meal. It was just awful. We received the bill, no attempt to make good on the order, no manager appearance to at least offer to make it right, or even apologize. We did tip her well, but wonder if we shouldn't have. Did she notify the manager at all? It was an "oh well, sucks to be you" moment. We should have pressed the issue, especially considering the cost of the meal $$$.I don't think we well be returning for pizza anymore, either. I'm sad.

Have been re-visiting this place since the early/mid 80s college days. Recent visit was in May 2015. Fantastic food and service(ask for Curtis, he is knowledgeable, friendly and super cool). Pizza is especially good. Try the "CBD Special"...Bummed the Southside location closed :(

The past experiences I've had at CDB's stood to prove that it was one of the best spots in the USF area to enjoy food and drinks with family and friends; unfortunately I can no longer say the same. The experience I had tonight ensured that I will NEVER give them my business again. The (only) bartender was drinking the entire time I was in the establishment (about 2 hours). When the establishment closed, there were approximately 12 people (myself and my friend included) still at the bar. As the other people who "worked there and were none of my concern" were free to continue on with their drinking (after legal hours for serving alcohol), my friend and I were called "mother f***ers" and told to "get the f*** out" by the bouncer. Cool. Overall this was the worst experience I've ever had; anywhere. The product has always been outstanding... the service however, has taken a swan dive straight into lowest echelons of the service industry. If you want to enjoy CDB's pizza, order carry-out. If you're looking for drunk bartenders and rude bouncers, then the new CDB's is the place for you!

This place is horrible, bad service, not to mention when i dined in, i saw a small roach, the sugar kind roaming around on the floors. Of course I've seen reviews and I'm skeptical about others opinion but i will definitely not be returning. Management seemed to not care when I let them know of the issue. Food was decent but i rather spend my money elsewhere.

Brought my girlfriend here for pizza and had to stare at the wall the entire time because every waitress was completely trashy. Got our pizza and it was undercooked and made with cheap low quality ingredients. Soggy, soft, and flavorless, ive had better pie out of a microwave, but even still i wouldn't be leaving this review except for the outrageous bill. 19 bucks for a crappy pizza and 3 and change for a sweet tea? Avoid this place like the plague.
