Enjoying this article about "What Apple has that Google doesn't."
While Google makes its design choices by consensus, Apple has found success by relying on the eye of Steve Jobs, whose role resembles that of a film auteur.

As much as the article praises this dynamic, once Jobs it out of the picture Apple will crumble.
The funny thing is, Google's been around for less than 10 years, Apple 2.0 is less than 10 years old, and Jobs has at least 10 years of productivity left in him as CEO, if he wants. So there's definitely a lot of ways it could go, but I think it definitely could end up like the 30 year old Mega-Church that always tells the new pastor, "Well, that's fine, but that's not what Reverend Jobs woulda done."
