Lady with her friend Milo. They play fetch together - Milo chases the ball and Lady chases Milo. Go team!

Sometimes puppies need a bath and sometimes they turn into strange alien dogs when wet. Thankfully ours came back!

Expose to bright light: No problem.
Get it wet: Seemed kind of iffy.
Feed it after midnight: ???

Hello photography folks! I'm thinking of getting into your fine hobby, mostly to try to take puppy pictures in our somewhat dark apartment / out and about and nature pictures around the bay area.  Does anyone have any advice on how to get started?  I don't really know anything about anything but from reading stuff on the internet my tentative plan is:

1.) Buy "Understanding Exposure" and read it
2.) Pick up a refurbished Canon 60D body and a Tamron 17-50mm f/28 lens
3.) Put the camera in everything manual mode and make blurry overexposed messes for a while until I get the hang of it
