Had really good flour tortillas. Corn tortillas were out that day. Chicharron (fried pork belly) was crispy and delicious. Chorizo and eggs were sub par. not enough chorizo to egg. Also minus points for refried beans on taco (personally i dislike most refried beans). I also enjoyed their chili relleno burrito, nice and cheesy inside wrapped in warm and chewy tortilla.

Breakfast burritos are excellent. In fact everything I've tasted there is great. The handmade tortillas make such a big difference.

The Chile Relleno burrito (without meat) is arguably among the top 3 burritos in East LA. It captures what I like most in a burrito: it's simple (beans, chile and cheese encased in an amazing tortilla) and satisfying. I've tried no other options at this restaurant. Maybe I will one day (though it's hard to consider the options when something as close to perfection already exists on the menu). This particular burrito has been written about extensively and many of these eulogies hang on the wall of the restaurant. One should be aware that the service (particularly at lunch) is painfully slow. Be prepared. The young woman who takes your order is so nice that you're mildly okay with it. Just block out some time. This is not the kind of place where you grab and go. But if you're on the hunt for one of the best burritos in Los Angeles, you would be remiss to skip La Azteca Tortilleria.
