I am a disillusioned plot holder whose biggest achievement was to grow a crop of cucumbers outside when everybody said it could not be done. My lowest point was the time the slugs did not leave me with one lettuce despite the slug pellets, broken egg shells and porridge. I will miss the robin and wren who visited, the butterflies and moths, Mittie the fox, and eating the fresh berries.
