Hey Check out Unity Linux https://plus.google.com/b/104965944955627103066/111991872035090257209

Can't wait until it's my turn.

I was able to make my first Unity chroot tonight. Seems to have a sane rpm5. It's x86_64 based and completely runs on musl libc. I think this would be the first distro running musl that officially uses RPM5. A very minimal site has been brought up for Unity Linux:

http://unity-linux.org

We also have a very simple git repo:

The only think of real value right now in the Git repository would be the rpm spec files. Anything other then that was old attempts that need to be cleaned out. I was going to try and use the OpenWRT as a base but found it was just easier to use Alpine Linux as they have a much more complete package catalog. Speaking of packages we those as well that can be and is used to create a chroot.

So far all I have settled on for Unity is using RPM5 and OpenRC for an init system. That can be changed as well however, it looks like we'll be sticking to those for a while. I may create an upgrade option to uselessd or even systemd at some point, but OpenRC is pretty simple and pretty great.

So slowly we are moving along. I can't wait until I can finally have a stable enough base to start work on Synergy Linux. We are getting there.. slowly, but we're getting there.

My current work for Unity-Linux has been uploaded to git hub. Still pretty young and heavily based on OpenWrt.. but it builds me a chroot.

Can you guess the release name for Unity-Linux?.. well if you were on IRC (Freenode #UnityLinux) you would know it.. but just in case you actually want to know it and weren't on IRC here's a hint.

Anyone have experience doing a buildroot with uClibc, because I'm about to.

Wow it's been a while. I have decided to revive Synergy, but in the form of KDE on top of Unity Linux.. So I need to revive Unity. I'll keep this updated.

Synergy Linux as a Distribution lives on, but not as it's own so much anymore. I have started to work with the Korora Project that seemed to have some of the same ideas I did. Make a Linux Distribution and make it simple. They have been doing a great Job at it. Synergy development has been halted for more then a year now. I was able to get a lot done with scripts, even build a whole distribution, but alas it was a lonely and time consuming life. So now a majority of my Linux efforts will go towards the Korora Community. I will most likely continue to update this Google Plus page with news and Korora/Fedora oriented stuff. So stay tuned.
