I have been athletic my whole life. I played competitive soccer as a child and I loved competitive tennis as an adult. Cosmos is my "strength connection" since I have learned the tremendous value-and daily necessity-for a strong, flexible and resilient body. I treat my training sessions at Cosmos Fitness as invaluable adjuncts to my overall wellness-and as very necessary preventative measures to ensure ongoing health and body balance. The friendly, service-driven staff and personal trainers are devoted, dedicated personnel who make every one of my visits enjoyable and socially fulfilling.

This gym for the most part is a great gym and I wouldn't wanna go anywhere else. It's what I like to call an old school gym. There are machines in there, but the best part of the gym is the large section of just plain free weights that most gyms don't seem to have anymore. Another great feature is that this gym is that while the gym is smaller, it still has a pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room that most people don't see or even realize is there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The manager, Rob, is more than willing to help you any way he can. Perhaps my favorite employee is Amanda, the front desk clerk and one of the Zumba instructors. She always has a smile, makes me laugh and is friendly and helpful no matter the situation. My family and I have been attending this gym now for more than 10 years and do not plan to leave anytime soon. I have even moved since joining and live next to a Just fitness, but still make the longer drive just for the gym. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that the music is questionable (but easily solved by head phones) and because too often is the thermostat cranked to cold. It's a gym and your supposed to sweat. However with Silver sneakers program in full swing at Cosmos, the majority of it's population lately have become senior citizens, most of which complain about good workout music (hence why the current music is questionable) and also because they are typically the complainers about it being to hot and therefore the staff cranks the AC. Other than these minor issues, the gym is absolutely perfect.

Disgusting place, terrible management. If you want to catch a disease, a visit to their wet area might provide the opportunity you're looking for. If there is a problem, expect the manager, Rob, to blow you off. I've been having issues with one of their members who likes to steam their private parts in the steam room and then uses a brush to brush her disgusting dead skin off her body, all over the steam room. I've reported the problem four times an then finally reached out to Rob. He didn't return either message I left, but I was finally able to get him on the phone. He was very interested in getting me off the phone, basically saying "Sorry you have a problem, but without the member's name, I can't help you." He wasn't interested in hearing about the problem. I asked if he wanted to chat about it on the phone or read about it on the internet. He voted discussion. So we discussed it. He said he'd call the owners and see how they wanted to handle the disgusting woman, and then called me back saying that the owners said he didn't have to do anything.... unless I provided him with a name, but even then "what she was doing wasn't wrong." I'm sorry, but if you're crouching over the steam vent with your privates inches from it and THEN you brush your dead, disgusting skin all over the steam room, THAT IS WRONG! And BTW, EVERYONE who works there knows who the offender is, because when I call and ask if she's there (because if she is, I won't go), everyone knows who I'm talking about. I thought I was getting a great deal at $12/month for life, but I feel like my life will be cut short by whatever diseases the disgusting woman is spreading. I hate to give up the membership to a gym so close to my house, but if they don't care about the health of their members, what's the point in paying to catch a disease. Disgusted. I hope the owners run out of money, fire Rob and sell the gym to a company who DOES care about public health.

Response from the owner - 9 months ago
We at Cosmos Fitness always address any health-related issues immediately. The wet area of our gym is professionally cleaned and managed by outside firms. The Cobb County Health Services inspect the area twice a year, and we have never had a problem of any kind. We always suggest that a member try to work out their issues with other members prior to management being involved. When there is a problem that needs our attention, we simply ask that it be brought to the attention of the front desk so it can be addressed. We are sorry to hear that your issue with another member has not be addressed to your satisfaction, but we will continue to do everything possible to ensure our gym is pleasant and enjoyable for all our members.

As the other reviews have mentioned, this is a great little neighborhood gym.All the equipment you'd ever need for aerobics and weight training plus a pool for a low impact workout. Crowds are usually light and pretty much non-existent on the weekends. Not an LA Fitness by any means but much cheaper and worth every penny.

Cosmos Fitness is a great area gym! Plenty of equipment and machines so never a wait and the staff is friendly and professional. Lots of classes too. One of the things I like most is the low-key, neighborhood atmosphere that respects your privacy/space so everyone can exercise as they wish and at their own pace. In response to another review, I would point out that the partial problem with the air conditioning in the cardio room has been fixed. I would recommend anyone looking for a gym in the area to check out Cosmos Fitness.

My husband and I decided to join Cosmos gym several months after an unexpected personal tragedy. He is under the Silver Sneakers program which is accepted at many facilities and I had received a Groupon as a gift. It took extreme strength to motivate ourselves to move forward. We have to tell you that this has been a life saving decision for us. The personnel at Cosmos is always welcoming, compassionate and very personal. Patti at the desk knows almost everyone by name. Michelle is a constant smile on Saturdays. The instructors are amazing and my first classes with Amanda who epitomizes her warmth and enthusiasm at zumba made me want to get up and go to the gym regardless of the tears I shed that day. As time passed I attended Bobbie's (boot camp LOL) awesome aerobics and strength classes and she has made that a routine for me as well. We have only had a few chances to attend Tona's and Diane's classes but the ones that we have, have been great as well. Lilliana has tons of energy and enthusiasm in the zumba class every Saturday. This type of intimacy also creates a loving and warm feel throughout their clientele and we have made some awesome new acquaintances there. Cosmos offers a high energy level of exercise to catering to the senior element as well with a lot of schedule choices. Machines are always plentiful. We have not done the water aerobics. Recently, I purchased a membership when my deal ended. Even though Cosmos does not have the updates and characteristics of the larger gyms, it has the personal touch and feel that is much more important to us. We are there because the Cosmos team "saved us". Thank you.

Cosmos is to gyms like "Cheers" is to bars. People who work out there know each other and there are many of us that have been there over ten years. It's different than the big impersonal gyms. Also, the instructors (I can vouch for the yoga and zumba teachers) are wonderful. It's a great place to work out.

This place is exactly what I need, which is a great variety of equipment, weights, straps, elastics and so forth. This combined with friendly staff and good members that also like keeping the social aspect going makes it an easy choice and enjoyable. I've been going here for +10 years and it's thanks to Cosmos Fitnes that I'm in great shape and will continue to do so :-)
