Board Games  -

My son and I just played Livestock Uprising for the first time. It was fun and easy to learn. Can't wait to see how it plays with 4 players.
Anyone played it yet?

1st time playing Elder Signs but learning from Richard Launius makes it a little easier when there's a rules question.

They are beta exploration cards. Probably won't be out until next year. They trigger when you initially go to that adventure. Generally a negative effect.

Love spending the day playing boardgames. My son and I just got home from a 12 hour binge at +Columbus Area Boardgaming Society where we learned 7 new games along with playing a few favorites.

My Black Friday haul. My son and I played our first game of Pandemic and lost magnificently.

+Courtney Hammond I really like Dominion and have already been eyeballing the expansions. :-) Haven't played Agricola. It's on my list of games to play though.
+Jon Hook I'm surprised how easy it was to learn. We're chomping at the bit to play another game. Hoping to get one in today.

Downloading now.

Since all the cool kids are doing it, I'm releasing a preview CM10 build for my device - the Verizon Galaxy Nexus (toro). I'm sure you've seen the other CM10 build disclaimers: this is not a release build, please do not file bugs on this, etc., etc.; all of that applies here as well.

Even so, +CyanogenMod 10 has been the daily driver on my phone for the last couple of weeks now. A lot (but not all) of the CM9 features are in place, and hardware support (camera, data, nfc, etc.) should all be working.

If coming from any other ROM (including CM9), a full wipe/factory reset is highly recommended. From CM9, you can try a non-wipe upgrade, but that has certainly not been tested to any extent.

Enjoy!

I won't link the Google Apps, but I'm sure you can find them floating around in other places if you'd like :-)

Playing Temporum for the 2nd time tonight. Great new release from +Rio Grande Games. Really easy to learn and a quick 35 minute to finish.

I don't understand this. How can this be true as the cell companies are today, at least in the US. I get that there are cheap deals out there but it's often not a true comparison. For example, if I buy a Galaxy S4 for $199 on contract and in 2 months find something cheaper I can break the contract and pay the $350 ETF and take my phone to that carrier (if the networks are compatible). $199+$325=$524 which is cheaper than the $639 for the phone outright.
Summary: According to an OECD study, it’s generally cheaper to get a phone and contract separately — or at least with the separate costs clearly marked — than it is to opt for a bundle with a “discounted” handset.
