Here's a fun story.  A classic Chekhov tale, with zombies:
http://magazine.scintillapress.com/zombie-lady-dog.html
It was said that a new zombie had appeared on the sea-front: a lady with a little dog.

Once upon a time, a journalist never gave up a confidential source. When someone comes forward, anonymously, to inform the public, it’s better to risk time incarcerated than give them up. This ethical responsibility was also a practical and professional necessity. If you promise anonymity, you’re obliged to deliver....

Around 2000 I taught The Sims in my multimedia lit class.  That was a riot.
First, the IT people were nervous about supporting the game.
Next, the game became a kind of profile for every student. Their reactions were very diverse, each pointing out something of their thinking at the time.  Some analyzed it textually.  Others tortured the sims, as folks do.  Still others created dramas.  Etc.

Yes, you do.
People will tell you this. You might see an evangelical light in their eyes.
They will stutter and rave, ranting about "the best damn show of our generation".
They are correct.
No television has gone beyond The Wire.
There is nothing better than it.

I wonder how many countries have a public database of STEM researchers + their work, like Brazil's Lattes platform: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lattes_Platform

Researcher, futurist, speaker, writer, consultant, educator, homesteader. Author of THE NEW DIGITAL STORYTELLING.
Introduction
Now: I research emerging technologies for teaching and learning.  Social media, mobile devices, gaming, digital storytelling - I write, speak, teach, blog, tweet, get interviewed, and consult about these, then write some more.

Home: I live in Vermont, up in the mountains, half off the grid, with my splendid family: Ceredwyn (wife), Gwynneth (daughter), Owain (son), and a bunch of animals.

Then: born in NYC.  Childhood and first schooling on Long Island.  Later schooling in Michigan.  English professor in Louisiana.

Always: geek.  Love books.  Lift weights.
