Hi guys!
I'm facing some issues recently (actually since 2 days). My N4 running paranoid repeatedly tries to download the last Android 4.3 OTA update (without warning me). I lost more than 500 MB of my data plan :(
The thing is doing this even not on wifi and as it can't do the update (as I'm on Paranoid) it just download it again and again. For now I restricted background data download of "Google services" to prevent using completely my data plan. The drawback is I can't have my Google notifications (hangout, Gmail, ...) and G+ is not even working.

Is there a solution to disable OTA update on Paranoid ?

Alexander Stoian: Disable the app itself in Settings->Apps

Philip Blumel: Open Paranoid OTA and enter your settings. Set update check frequency to dont check.

Arnaud Chauveur: Ok there was a misunderstanding. It's not the Paranoid OTA update, It's the regular Android OTA update in settings->About phone->System updates

I assume it tries to download the regular Android 4.3 update but can't flash it as I'm running paranoid so it just re download it and so on.

Arnaud Chauveur: They're talking about 30 to 50ms of switching time between the two cores on the website. This is huge.
It's weird because in the PDF they talk about 20us which is more coherent.
As far as I understand, it seems that the L2 cache is shared between A15 clusters and A7 clusters (the L2 memory controller is in the A15 MP core). So the amount of data to synchronize are the 4 L1 cache (64KB each) plus the registers only. It's roughly 274KB.

The CCI (Cache Coherency Port) is 128b width. So it needs :
274 x 1024 x 8 / 128 = 17152 cycles.

The CCI runs at half of the speed of the A15 so it should be around 900Mhz. So it make something like 19us to transfer data. Close to the number of 20us in the white paper.

Stany MARCEL: In previous arm announcements they have also been talking of 20us.

NEXUS Nexus 10

774ms at sunspider with Chrome Beta. It's now one of the fastest browser at this test.
it's now close to the score obtain on the Samsung Chromebook with the same processor.

Cale Schmitz: I tried all the tricks I could currently muster on my Nexus 4 on the same test earlier tonight. I was able to bump my original, stock 1347 down to 1100. I can't see the S4 Pro doing much better than that.

My goal is to get paranoid android ROM ported to the Chromebook as soon as I can get the Nexus 10 kernel booting on it.

Arnaud Chauveur: I got 1255ms with the Nexus 4. But it's with a modified kernel (without overclocked thought).

But the Cortex-A15 is incredibly faster than all the other ARM SoC (except last Apple ones). It is especially true with the NEON unit. I ran some custom NEON bench and the S4 pro, even with 4 cores, is twice slower than the dual core Exynos 5250.

Cale Schmitz: Just saw your comment sir.I wanted to add that my result was gained from a combination of over clocking and using a Linaro build and kernel.
