A comfy atmosphere attracts a laid-back neighborhood crowd to this cash-only pub famed for burgers.- Google
"Hands down, best burger in NYC. Bacon cheese burger and cottage fries."
"Good burgers and good food in genral .. a bit overpriced though."

Nasty rude waitress, insisted everyone in our party order a full meal which at 1230am was not what all of us wanted. There were empty tables so its not like we were stopping them from maximizing their sales. If your not interested in business at that hour why stay open? Food when it finally arrived was awful, of course she added her tip and as we were not expected to be forced to order more than we intended we were short on cash.... its CASH ONLY.. IRS should look at their books for sure. Total abuse.... Never again. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

Use to be a regular here, average burgers but cool scene. Won't ever be back because the manager that takes reservations was unbelievably rude to me. I called and asked if they allowed dogs outside and the person behind the bar told me that they did outside, walked there and the mgr told me they didn't. When I showed him on my phone that I had called and had a conversation he took me inside and embarrassed me in front of his staff telling me that they were honest people and would never lie. He then proceeded to continue to make a scene outside. Strongly recommend against it. Service is horrible and burgers are average.

Seriously consistent burgers. I've been coming to JG for more than ten years and haven't had a burger or bacon cheese burger that wasn't delicious. I could eat one for breakfast, lunch and dinner on the same day. Personally, I usually show up late and eat outside either alone or with friends. The fries are amazing too. They are cut in little circles and there are never any left over. Long live JG!

Came here to try their famous burgers and absolutely wasn't dissapointed. After first bite of my well done hamburger I could feel how fresh the meat is. You really can't feel any additives, if they use any, just pure grounded meat. You can even tell when you look at it by it's structure and consistency how carefully it's made. Wheter or not is this this the best burger in NYC is a matter of debate, but it's damn good. Place itself is bit overcrowded and really tight, but I was expecting that. Also, don't expect to stay here for chating over dinner, it's really busy. Staff is nice, no remarks there. One tip, place is cash only.

I went to eat there after watching "The Best Thing I Ever Ate". Of course, I had high expectations for the cheeseburger I ordered, which was $10.50 (before taxes and tip, cash only) but once it came, it was overcooked, unpleasantly crunchy, burnt, not charred, on the outside, and completely bland. There was absolutely no flavor to the burger, I could not taste the cheese, the texture of the meat was grainy, and the buns were soggy. They came with onions and pickles only. Thinking I would eat the best burger of my life, I ended up getting one of the worst, if not, the worst burger of my life. If you have $12 dollars to burn, you can buy the ingredients and make a burger at least ten times better at home than eat here. In fact, I'd sooner eat at McDonald's or Burger King before I eat there again and I haven't eaten in fast food joints in over eight years. I had to douse my burger with ketchup to make it edible and I ate it... only for the money I'd just blown. Oh, and the service here is the worst I've ever come across. The host is a grumpy old man with a scowl etched on his face and the waitstaff don't even try to be friendly. I almost didn't want to leave a tip because the service was so bad and the only reason I left anything was because I'd worked as a server myself. The place is cramped and the decor forgettable. I'd never go back there, unless someone offered me $100 and paid for my meal.
