Gorgeous grounds around a gorgeous castle, and only an easy 1/2h train ride from Copenhagen. disclaimer: I haven't seen the inside, preferring riding bicycle in the forest north of it, but I definitely will go back to check it out in depth. Lovely place.

Great castle and it's surroundings. Definitely go for castle tour, it's worth of price. After that don't forget to visit castle gardens at the back of castle.

Certainly the environment adds to the value of the museum and the castle itself. The lovely gardens surrounding the palace are a must see. The museum is a history of Denmark told through paintings, a lot of paintings. Though no doubt interesting, I could not finish the whole iPod guide. There is a lot to see, that's for sure.

It is incredibly beautiful with richly decorated rooms and great collections of paintings, furniture and decorative items. Expect your visit to take you several hours which makes it a nice destination for a day trip with a complementary walk in the garden and forest.
