Menu
Since 1992 West Lake has stimulated Greater Vancouver taste buds with their traditional Vietnamese Beef Noodle soup. Naturally flavoured, low-calorie, and delicious, our noodle soups give customers a complete, nutritious and well-balanced meal. Aside from our specialty noodle soups, West Lake offers a tasty selection of other exciting and colourful Vietnamese dishes including spring rolls, lemongrass meat dishes, curry, and exotic tropical dessert selections.

Our friendly atmosphere combined with our reasonable prices is reason for you to discover why West Lake was chosen for the Richmond Review’s Reader’s Choice Awards of 2008.

Re-opening at a brand new location in January 2011, owner Jimmy Cheng is looking forward to turning his Vietnamese Kitchen into tight knit family powered restaurant where customers can go for some traditional homestyle cooking. West Lake is looking forward to welcome new customers, and catching up with the old.

I've been craving pho recently and some friends recommended this restaurant, West Lake. "West Lake?" I thought. What kind of Vietnamese restaurant is that? It doesn't even have the word "Pho" in the name. But last night I went and it was actually a pretty good place. There's free parking and the restaurant is clean and updated compared to many other pho places. The Pho itself didn't disappoint. There was good volume for the large size at $8.50. I went to another Pho restaurant in Richmond and paid more but got less. The soup is flavorful and just deep enough to get that nice beefy, lingering aftertaste that Pho enthusiasts like. You know, the kind that makes you want to drink the whole bowl but regret it later. For me, I prefer the soup to be just a little deeper in flavor but what I got at West Lake was definitely satisfying. I can say that I walked away feeling like I had a decent bowl of pho. As for the name West Lake, apparently, according to Wikipedia, "West Lake is a freshwater lake in the center of Hanoi, Vietnam. With a shore length of 17 km, this is the largest lake of the capital and a popular place for recreation with many surrounding gardens, hotels and villas." Summary: Good food, comfortable space, free parking, and decent prices make West Lake a good choice if you're craving pho.
