Do not trust this place! I had a great first impression but quickly realized the employees are thieves. I left my new sunglasses on a table during a party. 10 minutes after I left I called, they tried to tell me that my glasses were not there. My friend who was still at the restaurant after I left, saw them and gave my glasses to a staff member. But when she spoke to the manager that evening, he told her that none of his staff admitted to ever seeing them. If you go to this restaurant, don't forget anything behind because the employees will steal it!

Hugo's is probably the best gourmet Mexican restaurant in town! There is not a single dish that I have not loved: appetizers, entrees, deserts, and drinks are all delicious, original, and incredibly flavorful. Being one of my favorite restaurants in Houston, I always bring visitors here and they are all wowed by the wonders of Hugo's kitchen. Not to be missed!

My GPS device was vanished after this restaurant valet parking last month. I set up my next destination on my GPS before I get off the car. After I got the car back from the valet parking guy, my GPS was gone in the wind!!! The restaurant manager obviously can do nothing. The valet parking manager said they are not responsible for any missing. I will not go to this restaurant again and please be careful of their valeting parking.

Best Mexican food in town. Very authentic and ingredients used are of high quality. I went there to have seafoods. Fish and shrimps were very fresh. It is expensive though, but worth every penny.

We went during Restaurants Week and had an amazing time! My girlfriend did the veggie menu and I went with the Roja... We both went with the wine pairing option for our respective menus. While it was certainly a bit pricey, it was totally worth it for the food experience. Her dishes were all light and fresh with very well developed flavor a for being vegetable dishes (I'm a meat eater through and through, but still found her stuff very tasty). My ribs and pork shoulder were phenomenal, the red wine pairings put the food at a completely different level. I'll definitely go back to try the regular menu!

It's a rarity to have very good Mexican food even in Texas, but Hugo's has superb food. I love Hugo Ortega's new takes on traditional Mexican dishes. His pulpos al carbon are heavenly. He once made chiles rellenos just for my mother, who had exacting standards as a native-born Mexican. She loved them and said they were 100% authentic. Gracias Hugo!

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the waitress was attentive without being annoying or obtrusive. The food was good. I had the carnitas. The meat wasn't seasoned very well, but it was tender and became more flavorful when combined with the other ingredients in the taco. In fact, it was almost delicious. I had the flan for desert. Yummy! I want some now. I would have preferred larger chunks of strawberry on the flan, but that's a small complaint. Overall, the meal was terrific.
