This place has incredible food! Their menu is full of creative dishes that make you want to order them all. We have been to a couple dinners and brunch and all were fantastic. If someone is visiting Houston, this is the restaurant I tell them to go to.

I don't think there's much left to be said about Hugo's. Besides, I don't have the words to describe how great it is. We made a trip to Houston for the weekend and decided to go to Sunday brunch. The place was packed, of course. I'll just mention three of my favorites items on the buffet; Chilaquiles, arroz con leche, flan and chilaquiles. I mention that last one twice because it alone was worth the eight hour drive. If you're ever within a few hours drive of Hugo's, do yourself a favor and go. You'll be glad you did.

Food was great. I had the ox tail and ate every last bit. I'd call the food authentic gourmet Mexican which isn't an easy cuisine to find. Definitely want to go back!

Came to Hugos for the first time on Valentine's Day. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I love the decor, it's comfortable and inviting. The octopus is a MUST have appetizer. It had simple ingredients and tasted wonderful. I also ordered the lamb and my date ordered the goat. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and had just the right amount of heat and seasonings. Our waiter recommend the bread pudding for dessert. Everything was delicious. Definitely will be back!

I have visited other affiliated restaurants like Backstreet Cafe and Prego before this and was thoroughly impressed with their food and service at those 2 places. I like the fact that they have allocated enough options for Vegetarians like me in all their restaurants. We went there for dinner yesterday and we particularly enjoyed their Tacos Dorados de Papa and their main course was ok. Their service was horrible. We had to wait 15 minutes to order the appetizers and almost 20 minutes to order dessert (they didn't even clear our plates). I noticed many of their staff were watching soccer on TV instead of taking care of their customers. I will not be visiting this place nor will I be recommending this place to others when they ask suggestions for good Mexican food.

Great food. Beware the parking. Hugo's came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The food was second-to-none and the service was outstanding. The place was packed, but the wait staff was attentive. It is a great value for a place that has a solid reputation. That being said, the area is prime for predatory tow trucks and the street signs are ambiguous, meaning that my $50 lunch turned into a $300 experience (city fine included). I probably won't return because of this, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try it.

First time I came here was for a client dinner - with a client who loved the place and ordered a zillion things to try off the menu. Everything was incredible, and although I couldn't bring myself to try the crickets (texture thing), everyone who tried them at the table said they were surprisingly delicious. The staff is super nice, and even asked us where we parked once we sat down to ensure that we didn't park in the nearby boutique lot that tows. Turns out, I DID park there, and they valet promptly came and got my keys and moved my car for me. Talk about service!
